Probably better than trying to get into > and out of central London. Easier to use the Overground as far as Canada Water then use the Jubilee Line to Stratford, if not Shadwell for the DLR with a change at Poplar. You can stay on the Overground (since it was extended to Highbury and Islington) and change at Canonbury for the Stratford Overground service.
  2. In Lewisham it was very close. 49.35% Yes 50.65% No
  3. Normal service resumed this morning with a 20 minute wait this morning at the CPT bus stop with the bus only going as far as Tulse Hill. By the time the bus reached The Grove, the Streatham bus was behind with no passengers on it!
  4. From TfL: LORDSHIP LANE / BARRY ROAD SE22 ROUTES 12 40 185 176 197: Buses are diverted and experiencing delays due to the emergency services having to block the road while responding to a road traffic collision at the junction of Lordship Lane and Barry Road. Route 12 is curtailed at Peckham Rye and is unable to serve Dulwich Library Route 40 is curtailed at Goose Green and unable to serve Dulwich Library. Routes 185 176 are diverted via Grove Vale, East Dulwich Road, Peckham Rye, Forest Hill Road, Wood Vale, Melford Road, Underhill Road and London Road. Route 197 is diverted via Peckham Rye, Forest Hill Road, Wood Vale, Melford Road, Underhill Road and London Road.
  5. Yeah the accident happened on the church side of the road. I couldn't see the person, but they were working on them on the road.
  6. Lordship Lane from the crossroads to Friern Road is closed as an RTA happened just outside the doctors surgery. The Air Ambulance is in attendence.
  7. The current situation I think is that if both parents earn less than ?16k, their child qualifies for free school dinners from the council. The new scheme treats each child equally, however I'd prefer the council just extended the threshold further up instead of everyone getting free meals when the council is cutting back on other services.
  8. I saw the report, but didn't hear the reporter mention ED. Are the BBC afraid of mentioning our town?
  9. Yesterday afternoon I was walking down LL by Underhill Road and a young woman asked me how to get to West Dulwich station, I told her to get the P13 from The Grove. Was told that "it ain't running mate" What if any publicity was given in Underhill Road and Whateley Road for those to get the P13 from either The Grove or East Dulwich Police Station as an alternative?
  10. The P13 is currently diverted along LL from Whateley Road to Melford Road. Seems a lot quieter, but goes to show how much of an essential service it is for the local residents along those back streets of ED.

Barry should be able to give you a more detailed explanation. In summary, they normally pay half fare using Oyster Pay as you Go on all National Rail services using their normal Zip Oyster. On London Overground from Forest Hill and HOP, children travel free if they're under 10 and half fare if older.
  12. Back to normal when I went past at 3pm. Just the new set of temporary traffic lights which have now been installed on LL by Court Lane. It never ends....
  13. If it's not the phasing of the lights at the Plough, it's now the temporary traffic lights between Overhill Road and Melford Road for Gas works that suddenly popped up on Saturday morning.
  14. The list shows one of the bus stops there with the number 1492 (I think that's the number showed on the side of the bus stop) which I suspect is replacing the current Countdown board at the stop going towards Peckham. (12, 63, 78, 363, P12)

It appears TfL have chosen bus stops with heavy usage, which explains why East Dulwich Station, Goose Green and Dulwich Library have been chosen over North Cross Road, Upland Road or the Grove Tavern. In Forest Hill for example, the current boards are situated either in Stanstead Road or Waldram Park Road which has two bus routes with not many passengers waiting for buses, but the town centre stops by the station have none. This will change when the new boards are installed.
  16. Southern Revenue inspectors and members of the British Transport Police were at ED station this afternoon.
  17. I was stuck in the traffic at 3pm for 5 mins from just behind Crystal Palace Road. So it's phasing differently just before the school run.
  18. Once the Grove Tavern countdown board is removed, I won't be happy to text TfL for once free information.
  19. Was the Kent border exactly the same boundary as Southwark (Surrey)/Lewisham (Kent) is today? Although the Royal Mail postcodes allocate Forest Hill to part of the Southwark side, such as Wood Vale and the council estate on the corner of LL and Sydenham Hill.
  20. The Plough already has two countdown bus stops on the westbound side, outside the library and Plough Homecare. These are the two that are staying. Goose Green already has a board at the stop going towards Camberwell/Peckham. Also to mention that the current countdown board is going from the North Cross Road bus stop towards Forest Hill.
  21. TfL have announced where Bus Countdown boards will be placed at bus stops across London. In SE22, new boards will be placed at both East Dulwich station bus stops and Goodrich Road (in Barry Road), however the Upland Road and Grove Tavern boards in Lordship Lane are not on the list. The list of board sites are on the TfL website. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/corporate/Agreed-stop-locations.pdf
  22. I'm thinking Wood Lane is what is known as Wood Vale, which is the boundary between ED and Forest Hill/Honor Oak.
  23. It normally closes around Sunset. So today it's at 7.28pm. Although I believe they keep Old College Gate open slightly longer than the rest.
  24. Yet there are four buses from Peckham which more than cover the stretch from Peckham to New Cross. The reliability of the P13 would be improved if the tiny stretch along Queens Road and New Cross Gate was scrapped saving the little buses getting stuck in traffic jams in SE14. If ED residents need to get to New Cross, the 12, 37, 63, 197 and 363 provide a faster service into Peckham to change for the other services and is faster than going round the residential streets of Peckham and ED on the P13. The benefits for local residents who use the bus for local journeys in SE15/22 would outweigh a minority of people who travel from end to end. 25. Since the route was changed to run along Queens Road to New Cross Sainsburys instead of via Asylum Road, surely the best solution would be to remove the route between Peckham Bus Station and New Cross which is already served by the 36, 171, 177 and 436 already and keep it between Peckham and Streatham? Not perfect as it still runs along the South Circular, but better than having a P13 stuck in traffic in New Cross.
