  1. I've used the Co-op self checkout at the Strand store, they were very un-reliable and in the end, they got rid of them! I'll miss going in the ED one where they have staff for the basket only customers.
  2. I rarely use my 3 dongle for iPlayer, but I watched a 20 min programme on there this morning and it worked fine with no buffering.
  3. Try this: http://549-lordship-lane.blogspot.co.uk/
  4. The 12 is running overnight, but not the 176.
  5. It appears from looking at the various Countdown boards, the 197 has now finished, although I did spot a 12 at a Peckham bus stop going towards the library.
  6. HOP will have lifts installed next year.

  8. Arriva are running a limited service on the 197.
  9. TfL have published the official list of routes and garages open today, although it appears some London Central and Abellio London drivers have turned up for work this morning. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/routes-running-normal-services.pdf
  10. Route 37 is operated by London Central (Peckham Garage) and they're on strike tomorrow. 176 is operated by Arriva London from Norwood and on strike. Basically as it stands, unless drivers break the strike, there are NO buses in SE22 from tomorrow morning, although it appears drivers have agreed to run the night buses (12/176/N63) until end of timetable. It was the Arriva The Shires division who run buses in NW London and Watford who have an injunction, along with Metroline in West London and London General. The nearest London General route to here are the 1 and 453.
  11. This site has all the routes operated by the various companies, including the Go-Ahead/London Central/General operated routes. http://londonbusroutes.net/routes.htm

  13. To help you, here is a list of the companies who run our bus routes. London Central: (Branded as Go-Ahead London) 12, 37, 63, 185, 363, P12. Abellio London: 40, 484, P13. Arriva London: 176, 197. Stagecoach: P4.
  14. The companies who have been granted an injunction are Metroline, Arriva The Shires and London General (who are branded as Go-Ahead London). However the Go-Ahead routes in ED are operated by London Central (12, 37, 63, 185, 363) from Peckham and Camberwell garages and are still walking out tomorrow, so as far as I'm aware. all routes in our area are still out of service tomorrow.

  16. UNITE are going to ACAS tomorrow to negotiate a deal with the bus companies after Boris offered an ?8m contribution from the ODA to pay the bus drivers their bonuses. However the ODA money won't be released if the drivers strike on Friday. We should know by tomorrow evening if the strike is still going ahead, but assume it's still on for now.
  17. The family have announced the sad news that Patrick was found deceased in Peckham Rye Park. https://www.facebook.com/HelpFindPatrickConnellyMissingSince7thJune Deepest sympathy to the family.
  18. I wonder with this accolade and the fact she could lose her seat in 2015 thanks to constituency boundary changes that she'll retire from politics?
  19. It may be better to change at Whitechapel and use the District/H&C to Mile End, then the Central to Stratford during the Games.
  20. Tessa Jowell has been made a Dame in the Queen's Birthday Honours list. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18456061#TWEET160279
  21. From December, you'll be able to also make that journey to H&I and Canonbury from Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye.

In any case, I don't think the Dulwich SLP won't have any news from the rest of South London, it'll simply go to the middle of the paper as the Southwark News already does.
  24. As part of the South London Press's revamp, from Friday, the SLP will print a Dulwich only edition of the paper, just like the Southwark News. This will join 6 other new hyperlocal editions of the paper for Deptford & New Cross, Brixton, Streatham, Wimbledon, Forest Hill & Sydenham and Wandsworth. However, if you buy the SLP in Peckham or Camberwell, the normal pan borough paper will still be published. http://www.pressgazette.co.uk/story.asp?sectioncode=1&storycode=49436&c=1
  25. I thought I was the only listener to the SW London radio station in ED until a "Mary" from East Dulwich got a mention on-air. Any other ED'ers who listen to this station who can pick it up?
