  2. I use Three for their mobile broadband which is fine here, but can't wait to switch to another network who can offer a decent 4G service in ED once it starts.
  3. People complain about the 176 being a tad late, I'd vote for the 197 which is probably the second worst bus in ED after the P13 for reliability. I waited 30 mins a couple of weeks ago for a bus from Peckham Bus Station on a Thursday afternoon. It's timetabled to be every 12 minutes.
  4. The app is very useful. Also it's worth getting the first 40 or 185 and changing at Camberwell Green for other buses to the Elephant, Waterloo, Aldwych and Trafalgar Square to cut time.

Southern's DaySave ticket is the closest to that, ?12 for off-peak travel ANYWHERE in the Southern network, ?30 peak, ?100 flexi weekly or ?80 weekly off-peak. The only catch is these tickets have to be bought in at least 7 days beforehand. http://www.southernrailwaytickets.com/buytickets/daysave/DaySave.php?sEvent=TicketDetails

    Gyms

Forest Hill Pools has just reopened yesterday, which comes with a new gym.
  8. There's a basement conversion currently going on at the LL end of Barry Road. Seems to be a long task.
  9. Is there a 'Find my Phone' app for Android?
  10. Normal cycles are not allowed on Southern trains into London between 7-10am and 4-7pm weekdays from London. London Overground's policy is the same on the ELL. Folded cycles can be carried on board at any time. FH on the other hand does have a sheltered cycle park if you fancy cycling to the station.

SE22 has one Tory councillor serving the College Ward part of our postcode. Lewis Robinson. Until the last election, College was a Tory ward until Labour won two of the three seats.
  13. Some publications will deliver directly to your door inside the M25, The Times being an example.
  14. Retiring from front line politics will only fuel speculation that Tessa will retire in 2015, especially if she loses her seat due to boundary changes which would see most of ED share a seat with the current Lewisham West constituency. This still may not happen.

  16. Noticed a few 'newer' 176 buses on the road today. I wouldn't mind, the 9 year old buses on the route are perfectly fine and only had the seats reupholstered recently. The older buses are still out there although in lesser numbers.
  17. He'll be back in December once the ELL starts.
  18. Back here too near The Grove.

Indeed, however it's not clear if the new franchise will have either through services on the core from Sevenoaks which serve PR and DH or the Wimbledon Loop. The latter is more likely to lose it's through service.

Not really, you could use the ELL to change at Whitechapel for the Hammersmith & City for Paddington, although I'd use the Jubilee to Baker Street then the Bakerloo or Circle/H&C. In that time you might find it quicker to get the 176 or 40 to the Elephant and get the Bakerloo to Pad. Once Crossrail opens in 2019, then you will see those journey times decrease as you'll be able to change at Whitechapel.

  24. alice Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > so to sum up ... can i now travel direct > whitechapel to peckham? From December 9th you'll be able to. Until then, you'll have to either use New Cross Gate or one of the stations on the current ELL which borders ED or Nunhead such as Brockley or Forest Hill.
