  1. My main concern is for ED's poorest families who may shop at Iceland for a few bargains, including some of the frozen ready meals. Peckham won't be an option for some people to shop at as that store is particularly busy. If M&S Simply Food does replace Iceland, it'll cement the gentrification of ED.
  2. From the Southern site.

I live in the Grove Tavern vicinity and Orange is the stronger signal of the two in my flat, so I think they're still operating the two separate masts. Three's 3G is from T-Mobile's next to The Grove here and the signal is stronger than T-Mobile's 2G.
  5. Remember as Orange customers you're allowed to roam on T-Mobile at no extra charge which has worked fine when Orange has been playing up for me this week.
  6. You don't need a smartphone to use the Countdown website. Any phone with basic internet access works.
  7. You can use your browser either at http://m.countdown.tfl.gov.uk or http://countdown.tfl.gov.uk instead of the app.
  8. I've spotted two new of those bus countdown information boards on bus stops in Barry Road this week at the Etherow Street and Goodrich Road stops towards Peckham. I haven't spotted any others yet.
  9. I use 3 for their MBB service and get 5 bars by the Grove.

That'll be because O2's base station is on the corner of Underhill Road. T-Mobile's is outside The Grove!
  11. How's the traffic along there around 9pm. I'm planning to get the 176 instead of the train home and don't fancy 20 mins in the queue.
  12. Remember that T-Mobile and Virgin Mobile customers can roam on to Orange at no additional charge which I find better in ED than T-Mobile.
  13. You're not kidding Bob! It took me 30 minutes on the 185 to get from the police station to Grove Vale at 2pm.
  14. I popped in at 1.30pm back in January, was seen straight away.
  15. For some reason the LL main PO has always been bad. Luckily I live at the FH end of LL, so I'll use the other PO inside WHSmith which is also open on Saturday afternoons.
  16. The P13 is currently on diversion between Peckham Rye station and East Dulwich Sainsburys. Diversion route is Rye Lane, East Dulwich Road, then doubles back up to Sainsburys and back again to Goose Green.
  17. If you can, use the sub-PO next to Sainsburys Local by the library. Wonderful service on Monday when I helped my mother apply for her freedom pass and while they have a queue, it's nowhere as bad as the main post office.
  18. Last time I went past, a lady was using the phone outside the station for when the station is closed. Peckham Police Station cover ED in any case.
  19. Whoever wins the seat at the next election will regain the majority of SE22 if boundary commission suggestions to introduce a Dulwich and Sydenham seat are implemented. Harriet would only have the area north of Goose Green after 2015.
  20. It's rare that our local media pop down here, ITV's London Tonight had a report from Goodrich Primary with the kids making stuff for the royals.

Indeed, but most who will use the Overground during the peak will be using Canada Water for the West End and Canary Wharf which is going to be served from Peckham Rye. As for the southbound issue, passengers who wise to travel to Crystal Palace (or use the 363), Croydon and Norwood Junction can do this from Peckham as now. Forest Hill and Sydenham are a change away on the 363 in Lordship Lane, 5 mins bus ride from FH Road. The reason why the P12 is terrible is because the route is too long. It was a bad move to extend it to Surrey Quays which has exaccerbated the problem. It'll be the same if the 63 is extended.
  22. First of all, I'm against any re-routing of the P4 to serve Wood Vale, this would cut off the council estates in Honor Oak Road and is well used by parents and children of the primary school along that road. Also, why not do a survey after December 2012 to see if passengers would rather use the 16 buses per hour (63/363) to Peckham Rye to connect to the overground or use the P12 and extended 63 to HOP station. The previous poster from Nunhead may also want to consider after December using the P12/78 to Peckham Rye to connect to the Overground.

Agreed, the Peckham branch would have done that, although for us in SE22, it could have led to a reduction in buses on the 63/363 in reaction to the change in passenger usage or as what happened in Croydon when Tramlink was introduced that feeder buses were introduced where passengers could board the bus, then transfer at the tram stop instead of going the whole way by bus.
  24. Some thoughts based on previous changes to the 63. One of the reasons why the 363 was introduced was to solve reilability issues on the section of route between Honor Oak and Crystal Palace which suffered from an irregular service which was normally late. I remember waiting 30/45 mins in Peckham for a CP bus when bus after bus went to Honor Oak. Shortening the route improved the service overnight and passengers in Wood Vale/Underhill Road/LL shouldn't have to wait more than 10/15 mins for a bus into Peckham and beyond, although they did lose their through service to Kings Cross. So extending the 63 alas for 4 stops would cause problems when it's most needed by us, during the morning and evening peaks without changes to the route over all unless the route was shortened at the Central London end of the route. Which I don't think would be popular.
