  1. As Barry mentioned in the station manager thread, there are services tomorrow from ED and Peckham Rye. A London Bridge to London Bridge circular via Forest Hill and Crystal Palace running every 30 mins. In addition, Southern will run 4tph from Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park to London Bridge, 2 of those will go to East Croydon in the opposite direction, with the other going to LB via Crystal Palace.
  2. London Overground will run a reduced service from Honor Oak Park and Forest Hill of 4 trains per hour towards Dalston Junction, this is in addition to the 2tph service to London Bridge from Southern.
  3. No Southern trains from ED or Peckham Rye tomorrow, however a special service will be in operation from Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park tomorrow with trains every 30 mins between London Bridge and Purley.
  4. TfL reporting the 12 is not running between Peckham Rye and Dulwich Library. 197 is not running between Peckham and Dulwich Library.
  5. The service through Peckham Rye and Denmark Hill along the Thameslink route is a shared service between SouthEastern and First Capital Connect. During the peaks, they go to Luton/Bedford and off-peak to Kentish Town. Drivers change at Blackfriars where the train becomes a 'Thameslink' train as Southeastern's franchise doesn't cover the route north of there. As for Tube like services, I'd just use Forest Hill or Honor Oak Park, where you get charged tube style fares on Oyster PAYG. (as long as you change at Canada Water or Whitechapel for the tube or Shadwell for DLR)

There have been proposals to add an additional service from Victoria to Bellingham which was scrapped. So they'll be 2tph provided by Southeastern to Victoria as now from PR and DH as well as the 2tph to Kentish Town (extended to Bedford in peaks) via Elephant and the 4tph to Clapham and Dalston. Once the Southern service closes in 2012, passengers from DH will either have to change at Peckham Rye for LB or Canada Water via the Jubilee Line.
  7. The ELL will call at Denmark Hill and Peckham Rye with 4 trains per hour (every 15 minutes) to Clapham/Dalston Junction. It'll also replace the current Southern London Bridge to Victoria service.

When they did run, it was after 7pm Mon-Sat (with one early morning service Mon/Fri) and all day Sunday. However it's just as easy to change at London Bridge if using Southern or Canada Water if you use London Overground from FH.

Can anyone tell > us WHEN this changeover is going to happen ? Hi Lee, Abellio London take over the tender for Route 484 on the 19th March 2011. http://londonbusroutes.net/changes.htm

  11. I use a 3 mobile dongle and surprisingly it works properly. Can't say for other parts of ED though.
  12. The current bus operator Go Ahead London/London Central has lost the contract to operate the 484 on behalf of TfL from March 2011. Abellio London who operate the 40 and P13 will take over.

Irritating, particularly the loss of the > Charing X connection. The Charing X direct services were axed in December 2009 due to those train paths that Southern railway used being obtained by SouthEastern trains. In any case, Honor Oak Park now has 12 trains per hour, 4 to London Bridge, the rest to Dalston with interchange with the Jubilee for Waterloo (and Southwark for Waterloo East) and the District and Hammersmith & City lines.
  14. SE23.com forum reporting that London Road will reopen on Sunday 5th September.
  15. Thanks Barry, your work has been much appreciated.
  16. The little Internet Cafe was overpriced which did them no favours.
  17. You can also go from Forest Hill to Clapham Junction then on to Twickenham.
  18. I went up Sydenham Hill and Kirkdale instead of using London Road during the morning rush. Surprisingly quiet!
  19. I can never get a T-Mobile signal from just past Belvoir Road, it returns as you get down the bottom of Melford Road and Lordship Lane.
  20. Currently the large ticket machine at ED is only accepting cash. Luckily the small cards only machine is working!
  21. You can walk from West Croydon station to George Street tram stop by turning left out of the station, walking through the pedestrianised North End. 5 mins brisk walk or 10 mins normal pace.
  22. It was a Southwark Council binman who found the man's body this morning on McLeod Court. The block was still taped off until around 7pm.

Once the ELL is extended to Clapham Junction in 2012, most ED'ers will benefit from changing at Peckham Rye for trains into the City and Canada Water (for Canary Wharf) and cheaper travelcards/PAYG. This doesn't take away the concerns about the South London Line closure, but as we've seen on the Forest Hill line, which I commute from, on the whole it's a lot better than it was pre May.
  24. I travelled up to Canary Wharf from the Harvester end of LL today. 30 mins including the bus to Forest Hill, then 25 mins on the ELL and Jubilee. A bargain at ?1.30 on Oyster too.
  25. ryedalema, if Barry can't find you a direct number, HOP is managed by London Overground and their customer service number is 0845 601 4867 (9.00am ? 5.00pm Monday to Friday)
