About his acting skills...yes! That was based exclusively upon what I had seen on the box. I must say that the degree of my aversion was prolly also influenced by the completely unjustified extent to which he was hyped up a few years back. Equally, I should say, there are others who share my opinion of the demeanour he appears to exude when walking around the streets of ED.

He used to frequent local pubs more err frequently than he does now. I and a few people I know have met him and he's actually a pretty nice bloke, who was happy to help out on a quiz machine or talk about footy.

Having said that I've seen him out with a group of 'pals' more recently and that 'air' was discernible. But then fame and success will always attract arse-kissing types, I guess the trick is never to believe the hype.

Not that that will ever really be an issue for me!!

ah yes, the old "I'll-say-it-will-never-happen-to-me" which means now it just might trick - to be fair Mockney you have had your work published which is more than most of us. In fact I'm sure I have seen you in the Bishop, downing double-rums like a proper star....

As for Jimmy - poor lad. I haven't seen so much of him since he moved but he was always happy to chat in the pubs watching football.

oi leave me out of this.

This thread seems to have descended into a rally about whether James Nesbitt is alright...

Coincidentally I was up at the TDF roll-out this morning [fantastic BTW] and ran into David Bathurst, who played the posh bloke in Cold Feet. He used to come into my bookshop occasionally, and was always just so nice in a way Hugh Grant only wishes he could be.

Also coincidentally the last series of Cold Feet was script doctored by a friend of mine. Small world eh?

Do give it a go.
    • Greens have some mad polices and I am still trying to work out if it is true that the leader of the party thought he could hypnotize women to have larger breasts 🤷‍♂️ country is in a real state at the min and all party’s have a part to play in that. what the future holds who knows but it is worrying.
    • A stellar win for the Greens in Gorton and Denton, no doubt. But by-elections are funny beasts. Labour's strength traditionally has been in its ground game. Legions of canvassers over many years in many seats usually means that they are best placed to 'get out the vote' on election day. I can't quite believe that the Greens have enough data, or people, to wrest control of the council from Labour.
