That's right...he was having to walk all the way back to the Clock House after having gone home because he had left his credit card behind the bar!

Did you get your card back?

*tries not to laugh*

Hey guys, thanks for a great day and thanks to Rowan for inviting me along. The Bear looks great on the fire place, will make sure I return it to clockhouse soon. Must say I felt a little sore on Sunday..

Already looking forward to running next year.

Gregory

Yes, well done everybody! A great day out (for the bit I can remember).

@peckhamgatecrasher, hmm, I tend to agree with you. I was one of the dressing-gown wearing flip-floppers - definitely not the ideal choice of footwear. Fortunately, the battle scars sustained by our feet came a distant second to those sustained to our livers...

Hello again Sports Fans

Just a quick note from me to say an absolute huge thanks to everyone who turned up, helped out and wished well. This was certainly my favourite Barry so far and it looks like they're only getting better.

Congrats of course to the winners but also to everyone else who was taken apart. Gotta give some special love to The Dudes in the flip flops, not for running in crazy footwear but for having a White Russian as the drink of choice at the finish line. Pure class of the highest variety, Help Ma Boab n I approve wholeheartedly. And of course to Evil Kenevel who ran in the Gorilla suit, he's spent the last 2 days in MacDonalds trying to regain some of the weight lost during the race.

Thanks to Rufus who put us through our paces with the specialised warm up, keeping the 'Safety First' ethos of the race alive and of course to our lovely starting gun announcer Aodan who's photo above steals the show for me (he's the one in what he claims is not a mankini).

John and Sue (mainly Sue), huge effort on your part and you shall be so rewarded, probably in Guinness.

And finally (not bad for a quick note eh) SMB Barry and the bar staff of the Plough n Clockhouse, big thanks to you and see you next year.

Hope there's not too much Monday DOOM around, if there is, just go back and look at Aodan's photo again

Thanks to everyone, see ya next year for BBRR 2011

ps - Help Ma Boab got the bus. WTF is all that about???

Brilliant pics Mark...great work. As HMBoab says - I can see the Clockhouse running out of tables if numbers increase further! Apologies to all that I was unable to attend on the day (MrsBen hopefully made amends) but it looked Barry indeed.

And Bobby thats a barry vest you were sporting there...

Hi

ps - Help Ma Boab got the bus. WTF is all that about???

Now if it had been one of my trains he had travelled on I would have been impressed!!

I would also like to state that my colleague abd I had a great day and thank you all for the warm response. Next year I will run the event in the "Fat Controllers" outfit.... just for the fun:))

SM Barry Jones

In case anyone was worrying, I just got news from Greg that Barry is happy in his new (temporary) home. Remember that Greg - it's only temporary! Would look much better on my mantelpiece. Just as well I'm not bitter in the slightest.

    • Good luck with this - there have been several requests over the years by students needing to do infant observations.  I was lucky when I did mine  - way back in 1994 at a local nursery. Have you tried contacting the NCT to see if there are any local groups who would be willing to participate? As a mother of 2 - found the observation very informative - mine was a 2 year old child as my course stated a child under 3. Got my highest grade for this project so was very happy.
    • Happy birthday! I've just read a bunch of your reviews and really enjoyed it. You write Interestingly without being too ornate, and you manage to give a really good insight into the "vibe" of a place as well as the food. Totally agree with your review of Rocca - it's simple, great food in a friendly atmosphere at a completely reasonable price, esp considering the location.
    • Hello,  I am a 52-year old mother and an integrative counsellor who lives and works in West Dulwich, SE21. In mid January I am starting a new training in Parent Infant Psychotherapy (helping parents to bond with their babies), and a key component of the course is a 24-month infant observation.  I’m looking for someone who will be giving birth ideally in January or February and who would allow me to observe their baby for one hour a week until the baby’s second birthday. The baby can be awake or asleep, playing, feeding, eating or interacting with carer/s and family members - whatever they normally do at that time.  The purpose of the observation is to enable me to gain a thorough knowledge of very early infant development and to develop the capacity to maintain an observationally minded and non-judgemental attitude in my work as an infant-parent psychotherapist.  I will provide enhanced DBS clearance and I’m happy to answer any questions.  Please forward this email to anyone who might be interested, email me at [email protected] or call me on 07949716043. I would be extremely grateful for any leads. Many thanks,  Millie  Millie Burton, MBACP Integrative Counsellor [email protected] millieburton.com
    • I keep my promises...had the Sweet & Sour Chicken.  It was great - the best sweet and sour dish I've ever had. The chicken itself was good and the sauce seemed home made with real vegetables and pineapple - it is NOT the red sugar sauce goo you get elsewhere.  The Korean fried chicken was very good but the sweet chili sauce was much more chili than sweet - just far too spicy for me. There is a honey something sauce that I will get next time. Egg fried veggie rice was good as a side.  We also ordered the chicken katsu curry which was polished off so quickly I didn't get to taste it. It looked very good tho. SD is not like Magic Wok used to be - cheap and filling but junk food. (Don't get me wrong - I went often to Magic Wok). SD's food is much higher quality, real ingredients, chunky portions, freshly prepared. I'll be back, for sure.
