We are on the corner with Coplestone Rd; I called them twice this evening and they said 20.30 then just around midnight. We have ongoing problems with Internet access for the last two years. It's on and off and if I need to work from home I often had to rely on the nearby cafe than my own house. Hopefully things are working fine tomorrow.
Just called, they said yes 9am tomorrow, I said was that actually realistic, the guy on the phone said he could only tell me what his systems were telling him :( I asked for comp, he is giving me three days worth of Internet free... Fingers and toes crossed it is fixed as my 3G (on EE) is also massively playing up, so I'm going to be working from a cafe all day tomorrow otherwise! Hope this is helpful

No internet in maxted road too. Just spoke to Virgin and they are still working on it but it involves Going to Hammersmith/driving through busy tunnels/waiting for different engineers (this was the help desk man reading from the notes). Also, they've got 1km of cable to try and find the fault in and they haven't narrowed it down yet...

Good news is the might try and rig up something to bypass the fault this evening.

We live on Oglander Road. Virgin broadband down since yesterday. Help website brimming with false promises about an imminent fix. Not the first time this has happened. Virgin have oversold and capacity exceeded of local infrastructure but no appetite over several years to invest in a proper fix. The result is constant service interruptions and glacial speed at peak times, if not, as now, total outage. Watching TV online is impossible, with frequent buffering, again at at peak viewing times. The answer is of course to change ISP, but not sure if the others are any better?
i am self employed, couldnt access my gig details today, left home a bit late, got stuck in the blackwall-associted jam my transport for london email couldnt tell me about, drove 1.4 miles in an hour, gave up, came home and an article i wrote has been stuck in my outbox for 24 hours. mobile v flakey.

Yeey back online! I don't know about you, but we have been credited ?15 towards the next bill. I don't think it will cover the data charge on my phone for the last two days!

I've been with Virgin for the last 8 years and I cannot complain about their CS but during last couple of last years broadband services were very bad.

I have been reviewing other providers as I'm truly fed up with Virgin.

I'm considering switching to Sky. Anyone reading this post and living on the border of grove vale and Coplestone RD and subscribed to Sky- how is it? Are you happy with the speed of connection? How often do you face problems? Maybe you were with virgin first and then switched? Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks.

    • It has come to this author’s attention that the world of 4+ admissions — that most enigmatic of educational rites — continues to bewilder even the most composed of parents. Fear not. For in a former life, I was not merely a humble observer, but a seasoned educator of over twenty years, and Head of Pre-Prep for a distinguished dozen. Now, with quill exchanged for touchscreen, I have taken to that most modern of salons — Instagram — to dispense guidance, answer frequently whispered questions, and illuminate the shadowy corners of school selection with clarity and calm. Each post bears my signature twist: a blend of insight, levity, and the occasional raised eyebrow. Should you find yourself adrift in the sea of admissions, I suggest you peruse my latest dispatch. • Perhaps Gooseygreeny was not familiar with the wildlife before Gala was imposed on the park, since when its value to wildlife has deteriorated. The Park had never been disturbed before, as the council had respected it as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, so only the Common was licensed by them as a site for events. The first time Gala held their event, there was a tree with woodpeckers nesting in it right in the middle of the main field they used and thrushes, blackbirds and great tits nesting within the shrubs and trees immediately surrounding the field. The woodpeckers were thriving on ants from the anthills in the grass. To those of us who used to enjoy watching the wildlife, it was very obviously a Site of Importance for a variety of birds. Despite being accessed by the public and their dogs, it had been relatively undisturbed,  which was one of the main reasons why it was so special and why I have been opposed to the Gala festival being held during the bird nesting season.
