This is the most amusing thread since Colin the Catflap Fitter! Is this person real? How on earth does he expect us to support him when he hasn't furnished us with all the facts. A councillor would be insane to enter into correspondence with someone making serious allegations (if only you would tell us exactly what these allegations are.) You would make much more headway if you seemed a little more "grounded".

I?m not looking for your support, I was just voicing an opinion ? as yet we are not under a Lib-Dem government, so free speech is still a valid part of our democracy, I know you would probably like to silence anyone that does not think the same as you, and when you establish your own Politb?ro, you can indulge your desires.

KD

The Lib Dems wouldn't be any better (or worse) than the rest of them.. if you look.. the policies are pretty similar - except for the fact Gordon ran up a huge debt - which I suspect the Tories (who i won't be voting for) wouldn't have, but then they'd have not invested as Gordon did (He spent a lot of money you know).

Being in SE15 - I'm tempted to vote for the crazy Workers Revolutionary Guy - who I actually talked to :) haven't seen any of the rest yet, and don't really think much of any of them.

Used to live in Swansea - which went Lib Dem after years and years of Labour, but nothing happened really. No real change.

Can I vote Hung Parliament. As I said before mind - the guy has left his details on the websites WHOIS so he can't be that disingenious. I tend to give him the benefit of the doubt as a great British eccentric:)

I think your right,

My bets on Conservative & Lib-Dem packed for 12 to 18 months then when that doesn?t work Conservative back in by default.

Labour, Lib-Dem, Greens, conservatives, doesn?t matter.

Question:

What happens when an unstoppable force hits an unmoveable object?

Answer:

No one knows.

Since the 1970s the world mostly the west, has been mortgaging and re-mortgaging the future. Now trillions and trillions of dollars in debt.

What happens when your assets become worth less than your debts, Iceland, Greece happens and more to come.

IMF and World Bank has not got enough money to put this Humpty Dumpty together again.

So shine on you crazy diamonds

KD

Whilst I'm not in denial about the scale of the debt problem, there is more than a hint of third-day-adventism about some of the people posting apocolyptic visions

Doesn't make 'em wrong - but it does mean I'll be avoiding people like them when I'm reduced to sitting around my campfire

I?m not knocking you, but I did put in the line.

Answer:

No one knows.

I do know the numbers don?t add up.

It is, isn't it? If this person isn't looking for support, why this thread, and why the weird website. Anyroad, he's provided a fair bit of entertainment, so I'm not complaining!

Once again, to voicing an opinion. A concept that appears to be lost on you.

Am I the only one who thought the game was up a few pages ago? Is this for real then....? :-S

Nope!

Looks like it! Hats off to KD though that it's still going strong...though I'm not sure how or, indeed, what it's about. Hugely entertaining though.

*laughs head off and hopes that Huguenot does not spot possible fisk*

Actually, does the above constitute "fisking" - there is no rebuttal involved?

Don't think I could have a go at fisking here, no Fee Fie Fo Fum to bandy around.

This thread has got into that awful habit of quoting posts already quoting posts already quoting posts, and then sticking ten words comment at the bottom. It's made me cross-eyed.

I bet lexicographers never realised the enormous influence to be wielded by the unassuming '>'.

As the 6th draws closer, I see the dogs of war are circling.

And before you go off on one of your pathetic delusional rank about paranoia, I would like to take this opportunity to thank every one for playing; I could not have kept this thread so high in this lounge room, without your help. Without your devastating quips this thread would have surely fallen to the depths of obscurity.

By the way ?devastating? that?s me being sarcastic. You really have not got an original concept among you.

You cannot properly critique work, so you shout at it like thugs.

So go ahead have your little tent on goose green on fair day, and look down your noises at the real people of East Dulwich, the real people of East Dulwich don?t think much of you.

Let the ranting begin.

KD.

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
