I think Jack Wills is pitched a little younger, with Aubin & Wills pitcher higher. Agreed with cate that the pricing structure is very lopsided and I am sure as a growing brand this is part of a future strategy.

Perfect uniform for the over priveledged DCPS / DC boys and JAGS girls. Also, would we all rather go back to the 'cheerz' and fried chicken shops of old? Come on - you have to take the rough with the smooth in ED. You pays your money...You Don't have to buy the stuff, but someone Jack will(s)

(sorry...)

It's weird if you ask me. ED seemed to be heading quite neatly into the gentrified mode of almost Clapham proportions with it's organic shops and overpriced polo sweatshirt stores - then came the credit crunch. The tail took a dramatic twist, and just like a half finished masterpiece by Picasso, the gentrification came to an abrupt halt. Lordship Lane has boutique sat comfortably next to chicken shop (for now).. Will this continue? Will Jack Wills and other posh folk shops continue in the same mould as White Stuff? Nail biting times for Judith from the home counties who is desperate to leave her recently bought bargain basement terrace on Zenoria Street, but cannot bare walking past the likes of Iceland on the way incase she see's a poor person! Tough times for Judith! ... Will ED's gentrification process continue.. Jack Wills, over to you my friends

Louisa.

    • Thanks all!  KateS - boulangerie Jade is a nice cafe, but they don't do fresh cream cakes. Their eclairs are filled with patisserie cream (a kind of custard), not fresh cream. Azalea- thanks and I've been to Bunhead Bakery (a Palestinian bakery) in Herne Hill a few times. There's a nice chocolate bun they do, which is amazing when then sauce is warmed up. But I haven't seen any fresh cream things there, only white icing. Maybe it's only on a certain day.  And the last time I checked, Ayres bakers in Nunhead don't do fresh cream things. These are the kind of fresh baked goods I'm thinking of....
    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
