Quick summary:

We spoke to Thames Water at 0800, 1000, 1730, 2130

All times very helpful with loads of information not on the website.

Website has been showing that situation will be resolved within 1-2 hours since 1700ish

It's now 22.10 and no water (top end Lordship Lane/Upland Road junction).

>12 hour delay we're entitled to ?30 compensation. Appreciate that things are worse elsewhere, but London is supposed to be a world class city comparable to New York and Singapore...

After 6 hours without water, Thames are supposed to make supplies available - bottles, standpipes etc. After making that point on the phone just now I was put through to a supervisor who said she had no idea when the water would be fully back on as they still didn't have a repair crew available on site and that they didn't have the ability to put alternative supplies in place on a Bank Holiday which is why none have been offered. So full marks for honesty but makes me wonder what on earth all the other people at TW we've been speaking to thought was going on all day.

Can't believe the number of stories going about from them - I hung after another half hour waiting! They have special provisions for those who are disabled apparently - I forget what, but when it happened before they were super helpful, but not this time!

Hopefully there will be something by morning :S

I can understand why you want to do this but if everyone does this as soon as the water reappears, the pressure will take longer to stabilise and means those in upper flats will have to wait even longer. Am very glad to have been away this weekend but had been looking forward to shower on my return which now ain't happening!

We apologise to customers in the SE22/23 area, who have experienced issues with their water supply over the last two days.

This is due to a burst water pipe on Lordship Lane.

Our teams have completed their work and you water pressure should now be back to normal.

Please contact our team on 0800 3169800 if you are still experiencing issues with your water supply.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused

You ought to get this checked, it is possible that the cold water feed into your tank has been compromised by grit (can get into burst water mains) - contact Thames Water - it is the sort of thing they are obliged to help with. If you have a system where hot water from your boiler circulates into your hot water tank to heat the water being fed into it than it will be getting hot without anything to heat up - and this might not be good!

Wondering if my hot water tank has no pressure.

It depends on your set up. We have a combi boiler and when the water pressure drops it's necessary to top up the pressure in the hot water system before hot water will come out, using the filling loop. Decent general instructions on how to do this here (except my filling loop isn't copper - it looks like this - http://www.screwfix.com/p/combi-straight-filling-loop/46605?kpid=46605&cm_mmc)

I had an air lock in my pipes which is common after a long time of the water being switched off, which leads to a trickle of water in the hot taps. As a council tenant, Mears plumbers came round to fix it and the engineer said they've spent the week resolving the issue in council properties across ED.

Hello, is anyone else in the area still having water pressure issues? My boiler has been shutting down due to low pressure and wondering if it might be related or if it's something specific to my house the radiators needing to be bleed

Hot water or central heating?

If low water pressure then you may not have hot water.

If central heating, then a water cut or low pressure won't affect it - you would need to top it up

    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
    • When I have more time and energy, I will look up the actual number of votes cast for each party in that election, rather than the number of seats won. I'm interested to see that you apparently  think that  Boris Johnson did a good job of "leading the country through Covid." Is your memory really that short? I won't stoop to calling Johnson and his cronies names in the way that you seem to think is appropriate for left wing politicians. At least the left wing politicians have some semblance of morals and a concern for people who aren't in some over privileged inner circle and/or raking in money for themselves on the back of an epidemic. I'm not going to open a can of worms on here  by commenting on the disgraceful so called "purge".
