A little bit of stuff from me (not much)

S**thampton are on the verge now of administratioin due to Barclays forcibly restructuring overdraft arrangements. Dates of 2nd Feb and 16th March have been mentioned to me, but with a break even gate target of 22k it will not be long. Woopert Lowe is just trying to judge whether they should take the ten point hit this season or next (i.e. is relagation a certainty?)

Now many may think I find this funny, but I am saddened by the financial plight of any football team, especially, in the case of S**thampton, one that for years was run so financially well. Just shows the dangers (imo) of appointing Harry Redknapp as manager (of course, relegation was in no way his fault - it was all the players doing!).

Oh and I am to have an evening with the FA Cup on 6th Feb as a guest of PFC! Quite looking forward to it really!

I can't remember which Scottish team you support Mick but another good weekend for the Dons.

Ronaldo is a selfish git. I expect he had somewhere to be. Still, we won, let's see what the Toffeemen can do tomorrow.

ITV Sport are a disgrace with their camera work for the Portsmouth v Swansea FA Cup game. They had all their cameras no higher than 10 rows back from touchline and not even coveromg near side of pitch. I thought it was a nailed on Swansea win and the kind of potential 'shock' to show the nation - but clearly ITV thought a Tony Adams Pompey team in freefall would have no problem against maybe the best footballing side in the Championship. Sort of sums up their panel of "expert" pundits.

Wow, and ITV appear to be rehabilitating their disgraced former commentator Big Ron, in the crowd at Fulham game, by focusing in on him and referring to him as a member of the glitterati!

Off to Anfield tomorrow morning, but intend watching Cardiff v Arsenal beforehand which I think is going to be another Cup 'shock'.

Sandperson - I think the clue is in the "Good Day" bit of my post. Although I have a financial interest in MU this year, so as far as south of the border goes, I'm with you this season.

Can't quite believe Bill Hill gave me 10/3 on MU in mid November.

Matthew123, here you go, this explains Ronaldo's behaviour:

Cristiano Ronaldo was withdrawn after 71 minutes against Spurs and after the game Ferguson admitted the Portuguese winger was a doubt prior to the match.

"We had to get the doctor in to see Cristiano," said the Scot.

"He had a bit of a bug and I think it showed today, I don't think he was anywhere near ready.

"But he showed the appetite to play and it's always good to have him on the pitch, opponents are always aware of him. He should be better by Tuesday."

From the BBC website. He had the trots then. :-$

    • Rant ahead: You're not one of them but unfortunately, there's a substrate of posters here that do very little except moan and come up with weird conspiracy theories. They're immediately highly critical of just about any change, and their initial assumption is that everyone else is a total fucking contemptible idiot. For example: don't you think that the people who run the libraries will have considered the impact of timing of reconstruction on library users? (In fact, we know they have - because they've made arrangements at other libraries to attempt to mitigate the disruption). After all, these are the people that spend their whole working week thinking about libraries and dealing with library users (and the kids especially). You don't go into the library game for the chicks and fame - so it's fair to assume that librarians are committed to public service and public access to libraries, including by kids. Likewise the built environment people (engineers, architects, construction managers, project managers, construction contractors, subcontractors or whoever is on this job) are told to minimise disruption on every job they do. The thing that occurs to us as amateurs within 30 seconds of us seeing something is probably not something a full time professional hasn't thought about! Southwark Council, the NHS, TfL, Dulwich Estate, Thames Water, Openreach - they're not SPECTRE factories filled with malevolent chaosmongers trying to persecute anyone. They're mostly filled with people who understand their job and try to do their best with what they've been given - just like all of us. Nobody is perfect or immune from challenge, and that's fair enough, but why not at least start from the assumption that there's a good reason why things have been done the way they have? Any normal person would be pleased that their busy, pretty, lively local library is getting refurbished, and will have more space and facilities for kids and teens, and will be more efficient to run and warmer in winter. But no, EDT_Forumite_752 had kids who did an exam 20 years ago, and this makes them an expert on library refurbishment who can see it's all just stuff and nonsense for the green agenda and why can't it all be put off... 😡😡😡
    • I completely misread the previous post, sorry. For some reason I thought the mini cooper was also a police vehicle, DUH.
