I do not like the Germans. They are aggressive, rude, often have excessive facial and underarm hair of which they are blatantly proud (and that is just the women) and occasionally wear very strange knee lenth leather trousers with bibs. They are not to be trusted. How dare they have such a thriving economy.

I do not like the French, their toilet facilities are an abomination - the doors are often too high off the floor and have a big gap all the way around. It is still possible to find hole in the ground toilets in France and the toilet paper is inhospitable and likely to inflict paper cuts.

I like hugs and I like Sean MacGabhan although I think he has been hormonal lately. I also like Mike Bate - he is good at hugging, I like Mark and Keef too (sigh). OK I like some girls as well, but that is purely platonic (bats eyelashes).

People who do good kind acts just because that's the way they are, not for status and not so they can tell everyone about it

Ordinary people, ie not on the telly, I meet who inspire me to be a better person or a more brave person

Slightly elderly gentlemen who smile at me in the street, say good morning, and make me feel like a "young lady" and politeness still exists

and yeah I have a weakness for Northerners too, I think this partly a familiarity thing which is comforting in the isolation of a big city. But I like the dark humour and the bluntness. Northerners are usually better out of the North though.

Totally agree with this, especially the last bit. I too have worked with a lot of Germans whilst living overseas, everyone with impeccable English. (better than mine - LOL)

Although I am in agreement with Mick Mac - French wines are the best (tu)

MM I also like the northerners, great sense of humour and they dont take themselves too seriously. While we are on the subject of the north, love the Northern Irish accent on guys. (sorry girls) Everytime I hear the accent, I feel like I am being serenaded.(sighing rather loudly) I have left my heart in Northern Ireland. (still sighing rather loudly)

    • Personally I feel its a shame for the tree. The bridge looks pretty badly damaged-I just hope it does'nt mean the entrance from Dulwich Common/Lordship Lane will be closed for ages while they fix it.
    • This is such a shame for the bridge.  I wonder if anyone saw it fall, and when it was (at night?) Is the walking path through the woods still accessible?
    • Free range chickens &/ organic whole chickens are around £15-20 retail these days…  Given their credentials in hospitality etc I’d assume Norbert’s has sourced decent quality chicken, wholesale. The fact they aren’t saying anything about that on the menu or website seems strange…  if it were true it would help justify the price. Chicken & 2 x Chips - would work out £10.50 a head between 4… not bad if it’s decent quality chicken and seasoned well with care & skill
    • I have no lawn but still trying to get wild flowers to germinate. After a couple of years sowing seeds I've finally managed to produce some ox eye daisies. Still trying to succeed with cornflowers, vipers bugloss to name but a few. A couple of foxgloves are coming up. Its a gradual process for which we need lots of patience. Don't forget after No Mow May it's Let it Bloom June.
