I spotted a caged van collecting on Woodwarde Road this morning so they are about but the amount of trees I saw whilst on my run.... they've got a fair bit to go!

Thanks Loz,it does sound like it's number of trees that has meant some streets haven't been done. I'm adding the above mentioned atreets to my list and emailing officers about this.

Court lane, Eynella Road- those properties have massive gardens- why don't people get a rooted tree and use it every year instead of encouraging the planting of monocultures ? The council does give guidelines on disposing of garden waste e.g branches no thicker than 4" and cut up like you would pruning and tree lopping or wtte

Oh for heavens sake ,can't people cut up their Christmas trees and put them in a brown bin or paper garden sack available from the library .

Or are we all such babies that we need Southwark running around cleaning up after us ?

Ye-es but collecting whole Christmas Trees is advertised by the council and I think people are just confused that they are not being collected.

Hi all, the streets I reported should have been done now, most were done last week and a few earlier this week. The reason they weren't done with the brown bins is, the sheer number of trees and so separate street-by-street pickups were done where vehicles were too full.
