How do you define throwing a sicky? I have never taken a day off as sick when completely well - but I have taken a sick day when not feeling too good in the morning but by mid afternoon I have found I actually feel not so bad and then regretted having taken the day off.

Having said that I have not had a day off sick as any description for a couple of years - its just not worth it - its better to be seen as dedicated and struggle in, no matter how bad you feel.

What about the morning you were pissed in 1992 (20 years ago) and didn't go in? How do you classify that?

that was a days holiday.

    • I had lots of books to donate to the HH Oxfam bookshop a few months ago.                I phoned them, and they told me I could drive to the rear of the shop, where parking is easy.  They gave me directions, and came out to meet me when I arrived.  They were very helpful, and grateful for the donation. So it's definitely worth ringing them!
    • Called Tessa Jowell GP Surgery today after failing to get two repeat prescriptions from the pharmacy.  When I asked the pharmacy, I was told that they had been requested but not sent by the surgery.  After speaking to the surgery I was told that those two items were no longer on my repeat prescriptions.  I was told I would need a prescription review. Earliest date would be the 22 September.  That is utterly ridiculous.  Surely someone from the surgery should have contacted me to tell me this after requesting the repeat prescriptions two weeks ago.    Also, apparently, there is no point sending an email regarding prescriptions as they are not actioned nor replied to as I have discovered.
