Its funny because when I saw the question I thought this would be easy, but I don't really have a favourite part.

Possibly Franklins is its best asset. If it has to ba a place/area I have always liked Eynella Road which is very nice and also leads down to the park.

now people are picking their favourite businesses - is that what the OP meant?

I think this thread has come up a couple of times before and I can't remember what I said then

Walking through Peckham Rye park looking at the red double decker buses pass the big houses on the ED side always gives me a thrill

Standing at the top of Barry Road looking down into town works for me

Coming over the top of DKH on the upper deck of a bus, after a long journey away from London makes me feel funny too

Depends on the time of year, but right now I feel pretty fond of Goose Green as the trees look fantastic in their autumn colours.

The only trouble with picking one bit of ED as a favourite is that if you isolate it from the whole, it seems less special. I love ED as the sum of it's parts, not due to individual bits.

Dawson's Hill and the bit of ED that featured in Spooks last week. Doesn't feel like the city at all and it's only a minute's walk from my house. Love it.

While the view coming over Dog Kennel is always a welcome sight, Dawson's Heights does - for me - detract from the scene.

I'm with SM on this one, Barry Road from otside the church, I always want to stand in the middle of the road and look and look but I don't because of the getting run over thing. I find it particularly impressive in the winter time when the trees are bare, it's quite a sight from the top front right seat of the 197.

Of course LL, that place of contrasts - by day a fluffy grotto of consumerism peopled by fragrant mothers in floral dresses leading crocodiles of their offspring on bikes around the pavements while at night transformed into a vomitous seething pit of licentiousness and carnage where toughs from Catford, hopped-up on goofballs make fun of the local men shod in their Crocs and Uggs and the bikes are of an altogether different kidney. Oh yes.

And of course there is the Barry off licence on Barry Rd overseen by the mensch that is Barry. If you're going to visit thi institution then may I suggest you do so on the days that Barry is doing the shop accounts at his 'desk', they really should sell tickets.

Poor Sean

I know what he means though.

Actually when I really think about it mine are small areas like the bit out the front of Moxons when the Sushi lady is there, the wood threshold into Franklins Farm shop where I stand on & talk toss with Tim.

Those bits are good for me

( if talking toss were an Olympic sport, oh... )

    • The events section on here isn't that big! There are presently only 20 events on there for the whole of February! It's just taken me about ten seconds to scroll through to see what's on! Also, where did you sign up for this summary email? Is it definitely coming from this forum, as I can't see it mentioned anywhere?
    • I'm a bit confused. You posted less than half an hour ago (as I type) but at the bottom of your post on what seems to be a screenshot dated yesterday evening  it says you found it? If you haven't, can you not contact the charity shop directly in case they still have it?
