Scribe and Katie:

In reply to both your responses I saw the title of the thread "Any hunters in Dulwich"

My response to scribe was meant as a knee jerk to take the pont of view of the Animal being hunted.

I really do not like Cruelty to Animals in any shape or form and I am fully aware that hunting is necesssary

in some shape or form to cull old or sick animals or also a means to thin overpopulated habitats.

If hunting is done so that the animal is not made to suffer I have no problem with that.

If you do not like my point of view I am really sorry but I dont think I am the only one who feels this way.

I am holding a Olive branch out to Scribe.....just make sure you are a good shot.

P.s. It's spelt boar, not "bore", you pillock

Thanks for the spell check....could you name the other Animals you hunt too?

well I thought you was Mature enouth to discuss without being insulting like you was in the comedey thread

I take back what I said above about holding out Olive Branch.

I rather be a pillock then a murderer of Animals...

Ps you can share your meat you kill with katie at a dinner party and brag about how you hunted it.>:D<

Same here, I hate unnecessary cruelty and am firmly against it.

I grew up where hunting was commonplace. I became a very strict veggie as a teenager (not anymore) and I still cannot bring myself to eat game or venison (sick of it).

You are entitled to your point of view, wasn't meant to imply otherwise.

Edited to add: *I'm outta here*

Thank you.

It isn't me that is stupid.

If you posted regularly on here, or bothered to read my other posts, you would know that I am against any kind of animal cruelty & would not dream of buying any kind of chicken, unless it was alive and I was keeping it as a pet.

Personally, I think you are having a very boring Saturday evening, so thought you would post a thread on here, to

wind everybody up, and get a reaction.

What could be better than the subject of hunting?, which so many people feel strongly about.

This thread should keep you busy all night.

Captain Scarlet/Swampy, I'm going to ignore your last comment and try to address this contention in a civilized manner.

As I've consistently maintained throughout this thread: I oppose trophy hunting i.e - running foxes ragged with hounds. It's a cowardly, pointless pursuit. But I would be a fool to think that the hunting of animals is welcomed by all. It's not.

When I hunt large game with a bow I do it humanely and conscientiously. I use a specialised kill head that's designed to cause enormous hemorrhaging, so as to bleed-out the animal as quickly as possible. It's also the law. I also pay the animal due respect by putting myself in its habitat. I don't hide in a wooden box all day waiting for a dozy deer to walk across my line of fire. I also harvest all the meat that I can and keep the hide with a view to sell it. We hunters are also avid conservationists, in that we strive to maintain the environment we hunt in. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say we probably share exactly the same environmental principles. In short, I'm not a monster/mysteron.

Below is what a kill head looks like, if you are unfamiliar with its appearance:

The only hunters in E,D,are the councils pest control, they dont go after rabbits, and I dont think they would use

your enormous kill head on them.

There would be no little pelts left to sell and no meat either.

Surely hunters would know where all the other hunters hang out anyway.

What are you blathering on about? I'm not trying to wind anyone up. I started this thread with good intentions. We've only gone down this road because my thread has been hi-jacked and I'm being labelled as some kind of monster. I'm not. And I'd appreciate it if we could steer this thread back on course, thank you very much!

Couldn't agree more.

Like I said, he's having a dull weekend & has nothing better to do.

Nice spin, on something you seem incapable of debating. I don't have the time to trawl through your x amount of posts on this forum. But I admit that I suggested you were stupid because you implied that I was sick because I hunt animals. I'm happy respect your decision not to eat animals, but I ask you to respect my position on legitimate hunting.

Sorry, but I could never respect anyone that kills animals for fun.

OK, I won't deny that I enjoy the tracking aspect, but unless you've done it yourself, you can't appreciate the spiritual connection of hunting an animal and enjoying it as food. I could be as petty as you and say that you revel in the uprooting of an inncocent, vulnerable vegetable, but I won't. I won't apologise for hunting animals. It's perfectly natural. It's the way of the world. Are you so disparaging towards motorists, whose vehicles emmisions contribute towards the suffering of animals all over the world? Oh, and do you wear plastic shoes

I'm sorry, but you're pathetic in your selective, misguided scorn.

Scribe,

I 'hunt' or should i say used to hunt as there's not much call for it in ED!

I grew up on a farm in Perthshire Scotland. Had a my own shotgun at 12yrs old and so on

Huntin' shottin' fishin'n all. It is the way of the land as they say.

I enjoyed that upbringing very much and still believe in hunting as a means to control game etc. I also enjoy the 'sport' and enjoy the end product too.

What i don't get about you. Is this bow'n'arrow fettish, if i may call it that.

As you rightly say, it's illegal in the uk. If you enjoy 'hunting' so much, why don't you just use a gun rather than the bow? Would mean you could enjoy your sort more frequently?? Surely the hunt is that... it is the chase so the end result is the same. Why prolong the death by using a bow?

Actually I do wear plastic shoes & I don't drive, which is beside the point anyway.

Now who is being pathetic?

Next you will be telling me that a vegetable feels fear & pain, the same as a cow on it's way to slaughter,

a fox being pursued by hounds,

or a deer with an arrow piercing it's side.

You can never justify a cruel, sick hobby like yours.

    • I think it's a good idea and follows the example of other towns/areas. As it says in the article, the area around the main tourist attractions in Southwark, that is The Globe, Southwark Cathedral, Tate Modern and the whole walking route from London Bridge to Blackfriars, takes a lot of maintaining and it shouldn't be a burden on regular council tax payers like us.
