yeknomyeknom
Hi,I thought we could share any ideas we have too cool down our bedrooms at the minute. As well as a fan, my little one takes a "cold water bottle" to bed. I freeze a bit of water in a hot water bottle the add cold just before bed and put a soft pillow case on it. Then they can rest an arm or a hand or whatever on it if they choose. I have learnt to put a freezer block in front of the fan so the air blows past something cold on the way to him. Any other ideas out there? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/157036-its-hot-kids-bedtime-ideas-to-cool-down/ Share on other sites
scareyt
Ah good ideas thank you! I'm going to put a block in the freezer right now. I've been getting a washcloth wet with cold water, wringing it out and spreading it over his bare tummy while we have our bedtime chat. I take it away when I say goodnight so it doesn't make the bed wet so might try the cold water bottle idea too. I also keep his curtains shut during the day to try to stop the room heating up so much to start with. scareyt
Yikes! But with one of those freezer block things that you put in cool boxes there would be no danger. yeknomyeknom
I'm also freezing half a bottle of water and topping up with regular water at bedtime so he has access to cold water most of the night as it defrosts. Mind you it's so hot I have to replenish all my ideas half way through the night. yeknomyeknom
Oh and I forgot, my sister used this stuff during her Labour to cool down and it's very refreshing and natural:https://www.sanareva.co.uk/product-evian-mist-baby-300ml.html?gclid=CIru7rPCytQCFci87QodbNwJXQ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/157036-its-hot-kids-bedtime-ideas-to-cool-down/#findComment-1148468 Share on other sites
Crokes
Even after having a bath I use a small spray bottle and lightly spray the kids skin/nightwear. Might sounds weird but I spray them again whilst they're asleep (if it doesn't disturb them!).Love the cold water bottle idea! yeknomyeknom
I wonder if these would work I. This weather. Maybe stuck to a pillow of teddy rather than them? They definitely didn't last 8 hours, but they are soothing for a while. yeknomyeknom
Yes a shower before bed without drying off looks good. Also Magicool is good from amazon.
