our cats are out and about far more now that the weather is warming up - a lot of cats wander and do eventually find their way back home (one of ours went missing for well over a week a few years ago) - doesn't stop the worry but it's an occupational hazard of being a cat owner....x

Have added a post in the wanted section entitled ' hopefully useful information for lost/found pets ' - it should help people cover all bases quickly if a cat or dog goes missing as it contains all the numbers to call. ( Do add more if you know any others ) Cats, in particular at this time of year, often start to wander further afield as they uncurl from Winter x

I've started buying these collars as they are much cheaper than having to get another id tag engraved as well as a new collar when it gets lost (too often). Puts my mind at ease that someone can contact me if they go missing, just had someone call me last week when my cat strayed a bit far from home.

thanks for that link - our black moggy is always slipping his collar... we've given up putting one on him now as he's microchipped and it never lasts and we're not willing to tighten one in case of strangulation - he's a determined moggie!!

this might be just the thing though :-)

I have noticed this too, 2 new posters up near me this week. I heard that some cats are being taken and used for dog baiting to prepare the dogs for fighting. This is happening in SE london. Not sure how true it is but something to bear in mind. I don't let my cat out after dark.

We have several regular cat visitors to our garden. One is an unneutered tom cat - a black cat called Rudy. He is so horribly thin, has the loudest miaow i have ever heard, and likes to spray everyhwere and begs for food. He is in our garden or neighbours constantly. Not sure who owns him but he is not properly looked after.

    • Direct link (sorry duplicated!):  Today, more than 30 states from around the world will gather in Bogotá, Colombia, for the “Emergency Conference” to halt the Gaza genocide: the most ambitious multilateral response since Israel began its campaign of devastation two years ago. Bringing together a broad coalition of governments — from Algeria to Brazil, China to Spain, Indonesia to Qatar — the conference aims, in the words of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, “to move from condemnation to collective action.” At 10:30 Bogotá, 11:30 New York, 16:30 London and 17:30 Paris, we invite you to join this historic gathering's opening ceremony live from the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You will hear testimony from Dr. Thaer Ahmed, who will recount his experience of working in Rafah and Khan Younis amidst Israel’s genocide. Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Colombia, will detail her government’s concrete commitments to uphold international law. After she was sanctioned by the Trump administration, UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese will deliver a powerful message about the failure of the international system to protect the Palestinian people — and urge immediate and coordinated action by principled states. “Here in Bogotá, a growing number of states have the opportunity to break the silence and revert to a path of legality by finally saying: enough. Enough impunity. Enough empty rhetoric. Enough exceptionalism. Enough complicity,” Albanese will say. Today, the call from Bogotá will echo around the world. Join us. In solidarity,  The Progressive International Secretariat
