I'll update as soon as I get confirmation whether game is on or not, if we get the rain anticipated highly likely pitch will be waterlogged :( I should know by 12 Saturday lunch at latest. Alternatively, all things Hamlet are here http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/

Hope I'm not getting carried away, but, is the ground up to Conference standards?

It needs to be Grade B: for clubs at level 6 (Conference North/South divisions)

I can see a few problems in the attached (http://www.thepyramid.info/misc/ground.htm).

The number of entrances needs to be 6 - we don't havbe that do we, and the toilet rules seem problematic.

Anybody in the know?

Jon

It was an amazing ground wasn't it.

Back in the 70s/early 80s I followed my home town team Wycombe and came to Champion Hill quite a few times.

I have very fond memories of Wycombe winning the league with a victory at Dulwich, followed by a fly past by Concorde.

Would now consider myself a Dulwich fan though and would love to see another promotion to Conference.

How bad is this jeopardy?

According to the rumours/discussion on Urban75 we're in deep trouble: http://www.urban75.net/forums/threads/dulwich-hamlet-fc-2013-2014-season-chat-rumours-reports.310974/page-62

Debts of ?80-100k, gas supply cut off earlier this week due to non payment of bills (but now reconnected), etc.

Also remember back in the day that they had some of the best floodlights in London. Vaguely seem to recall that a profession club in London wanted to buy them, going the whole hog, dismantling ,transporting etc etc.

With much conjecture regarding the future the Football Committee would like to invite all interested parties to a meeting on 22nd February.

In recent days there has been much comment regarding both the club's financial position and the future of the stadium.

The meeting will take place following the home game against East Thurrock Utd and bring everybody up to date with the current information available about the club's position and proposals to secure its long term future.

No news on tomorrow nights game yet but, personally, can't see it going ahead

    • A slightly vulnerable but hopeful post… Hi everyone, I’m a guy in my mid-thirties who’s recently moved back to London and East Dulwich (I previously lived here for many years before, so I know the area well). But if I’m honest, I’ve found the return a little tough. Most of my close friends have moved out of London to start families — totally understandable — but it’s left me feeling a bit adrift and not quite sure how to make new connections again. Work has taken up a huge chunk of my life in recent years, and I’ve definitely let hobbies, interests and a proper social life fall by the wayside. I feel like I went from a fun social life in my 20’s to suddenly blinking and realising things had gone a bit er…quiet. So, I’m trying to redress the balance a bit — mainly so myself and my partner don’t murder each other 😂, and just to meet some new local faces. I was wondering: is anyone else in a similar boat? And would there be any interest in starting a relaxed, low-key local social group? Could be a casual pub meet, sports, park hangouts, live comedy nights — open to ideas!  I’m happy to do the organising/admin side of things — just wanted to put it out there and see if there’s any appetite. I’ll gauge interest and take it from there.  If you’d prefer not to reply publicly, feel free to drop me a DM.  Cheers all! 👋
    • It's Inner London. You could move somewhere else?
