M&S - robbery

There was a robbery at 8am this am.

Staff are apparently ok but they police are currently finger printing / gathering evidence.

Only 2 tills working so long queues.

I am glad all the staff are ok. I cannot believe they are going dillergently about their work.

Yet still people are complaining how long police are taking and why can?t they open tills?!?

So you may want to factor in a little longer for your M&S shop

Well done to the m&s staff.....they have opened shop and working hard to get delivery out....must be really shaken but still giving great service.....hope they get a lovely Christmas tomorrow.....and the company appreciate them X (Anyone wanting to complain/moan....get a grip!)

I felt the same Cora, at least they are safe (look at the incident in Aldi) and what does it matter if we wait a little longer.

It seemed good spirited when I was there, we had chocolates handed out by a staff member!

Apparently the getaway car couldn't find a parking space so the robbers jogged slowly, laden with loot, all the way down north cross road.

Well done to the staff-situations like that are incredibly traumatic and shopwork is not highly paid.

To those moaning about the queues....get a grip! You won't starve and just thank the lord that no one was hurt in the robbery.

Nice work M&S staff. And good to see/hear no one actually whinge about the queue, just the usual hearsay about someone hearing something about someone apparently saying something.

To be fair, it's entirely possible the thieves were confused. Having been told repeatedly it's 'Your M&S', maybe they thought they could just help themselves to the takings...

I'm no detective. And with majority paying by card now (esp under 50s) there probably wasn't such a big cash take. But my bet is that because Xmas eve fell on a Sunday the usual usual cash collection didn't happen and created an opportunity. But that's a wild guess. Let's wait for Detective Mick Mack to shed some more light...

The Robbery occurred at 08.00 am. The tills would of contained their Float and not much takings..

Yes, exactly this. They would have been after the float. But on a busy day like xmas eve, this would probably have been more substantial than usual.
