It is disgusting that the EPL let this happen in the first place. How Balram Chanrai, Daniel Azougy and even Ali or Ahmed Al-Firaj can have passed a fit and proper person test is beyond me, they are all stooges of Arkadi Gaydamak - who is an international arms dealer and is wanted in both France and Israel.

EPL is now desparately trying to back pedal in sorting this fooking mess out.

There are going to be some upset people in the near future, David Gold might be one of them.

Portsmouth as a city is going to erupt soon. Would not be surprised if there is trouble down there sooner or later. Feelings are running very very high.

The repercussions from this are going to be long lasting and deep. It's despicable! Most fans want the club put out of it's misery and wound up now! The situation currently is a farce!

Scotland to lose one it's CL qualifying spots - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/8524079.stm

Long gone are the days when Europe feared Scottish teams. Maybe the turning point was Souness taking charge of Rangers as his strategy of bringing in foreigners soon spread to the rest of the division and it is that conveyor belt of third rate players who have maybe stunted the development of Scottish youngsters. I don't know, maybe it is because of social problems as Gordon Strachen mentioned only last year (I think).

Either way would it be good for Scottish football to fully intergrate into the English Football League?

Not feasable because of distance/cost reasons though there probably plenty of other reasons too. Torquay v Inverness C, not affordable. I don't think it will be too long before the lower divisions here are regionalised anyway, like they used to be.

I was out on my bike when United played and it seems I made the right decision. Even Fergie admitted we were too poor. Must have been bad. Arsenal for second place I reckon. We keep chucking away too many points and need to score more goals against these sorts of teams.
Actually United played well up until Everton equalised which admittedly was shortly after we scored. After that it could have gone either way but Rooney was not on top form and Berbie was as lazy as usual. Those who argued my point that Rooney's touch is not great should watch this game closely. He blew it on two occasions when it mattered. Great player but not all things to all men.
Something not right with Rooney today - maybe the usual fire in his belly was extinguished by Moyes calling for fans to finally forgive him after he walked out on his boyhood Club. I was impressed with Everton's football today, I actually enjoyed their performance (putting aside the fact they actually won). They have a lot of youngsters with PL experience at Everton - the lad who scored the final goal was rejected by Liverpool when he was 6 years-old (during Roy Evans era)!
Matt - good points. Only saw the second half but Rooney is having to do too much and I suspect he gets frustrtated with his team mates (as in midweek). Everton are in good form at present and playing decent football - seemingly this coincides with the arrival of Landon Donovan who has fitted into the team nicely.

And everyone says I'm biased. Better to have Le Boss who has actually won things and not sent teams in to financial meltdown like Del Boy Churchill nodding dog Redknapp. Just in case I've missed the point, we won yesterday so why would Le Boss say how wonderful Sunderland were when they weren't. Or this just you having a side swipe because Tottering Hotspuds aren't worty talking about? 4th spot eh? Please don't make me smile. 50 years next year and counting, I suggest Spuds look after their own back yard before aspiring to reach the level of the Arsenal.

Indeed!!! B)

I was nearly right to be fair. Milan started brilliantly and Seedorfs did score and I also tipped Ronaldinho to do well in another post. Give me some credit. One day you may even gain the 'sage' status. Your''re a bit more like sage and onion at the moment mate as your posts always make me cry.......with laughter.

Let's be honest you need a good sense of humour to follow Spuds, especially with Del Boy at the helm. I love it when people claim my posts make them smile, proves I've got under your skin and hit a nerve. 1961 and counting.

Lets be fair, most Spuds fans are extremely confused! Bless. Keep taking the medication.

You're frothing at the mouth Jimmy boy. Mind your blood pressure. It must be hard for you and your fellow supporters to watch us better you in verything for years on end with no end to bettereing us at anything in sight. Keep the faith with noding dog Churchill and I'm sure you'll suffer the same financial fate as Southampton, Pompey, and West Ham. Notice a pattern forming? Wouldn't it be awful if Del boy made it 4 out of 4? 49 years and running.

We've certainly got a better keeper. Did you see that numbskull notsofab-ianski. My god where did Vinegar face dig him up from? You gotta laugh though aint you mate else you'll cry. Well...we all had a laugh at his performance anyway. Great entertainment. Good to see old Sol with his head in his hands as well. Suprised he didn't jump on the first ferry to Belgium again.

You gotta laugh aint you Atila.

    • Have you tried Southwark's leisure centres? As a regular attendee at Peckham, Camberwell, The Castle and speaking to friends, the dance routines for all ages are similar to Silver ones. In addition Natty, Bianca and Isac are brilliant instructors.
    • I've been there for lunch a few times and the home cooked asian food (as part of Sweat Dreams cafe) is genuinely great and a must try. I think the food side of the business has been slow to be noticed but people are now realising what is actually hidden in plain sight.  As for the Aroma Lab coffee ... it is excellent, they are very welcoming and friendly (and unpretentious!). This Australian coffee snob is mightily impressed!!
    • Do you mean put out things like live mealworms for the parents to feed to the young? Or that the parents will eat the food you put out and therefore can save "wild" live food for the young rather than eating it themselves? On another matter, several weeks ago I moved my bird feeders to another part of my (very small) garden because the area they were in was totally scratched up by pigeons, and I lost several plants I had had for decades and was very fond of 😭 It is now just bare earth with no plants,  and I've got to start again. And block up a fox hole in one corner. I suspect the foxes are tunnelling beneath the garden, as there are several holes. I hope the ground doesn't suddenly collapse beneath me! I cleaned everything and put in fresh seed, but so far all that has visited the new area (that I have actually seen)  is one rather fat sparrow. And a cat. Sitting hopefully beneath the feeders 🤬 No goldfinches (I have a niger seed feeder and have seen the occasional goldfinch in the garden) and no tits, though I've heard both blue tits and great tits nearby. Plus the flock of sparrows who used to come and seem to have deserted the garden. Hopefully they will find the feeders. I've cut back some of the greenery, which doesn't help, as they have less shelter.
    • So when will we find out? Is it going to be a big reveal on some specified day? If not, why can't you tell us now?! (I'm presuming you mean the new boss of Franklins. It would be too much to hope for that the Palmerston had a miraculous return to one of its better past incarnations. Never mind the food, they could bring back the lovely quirky painted column things of over twenty (?) years ago, and remove the hideous "art" that has sadly been installed. I feel really sorry for the staff, because it can't be just my partner and I who rarely go there any more. I suppose the only hope is that it does so badly that it changes hands again and that the new hands have better taste. Sorry, all off topic.)
