We can do it mathmatically

1 Chelsea 34 15 1 1 53 14 9 4 4 32 16 55 77

2 Man Utd 34 14 1 2 45 11 9 3 5 32 16 50 73

3 Arsenal 34 14 1 2 44 15 8 4 5 32 21 40 71

4 Man City 33 11 4 1 38 17 6 7 4 31 24 28 62

Chelsea, Man Ure and Arse lose every game we win ;-D Manchester City, Ever the optimist ! Lol

Oh, Spurs you just don't get it: you were supposed to beat Portsmouth at the weekend and then go on to win the cup so that Chelski didn't and then lose to us last night (about 0-8) so that we could pip Chelski for the title. I mean why do you think I kept having that dream?

Ah, I see Rafa's plan now. Perform really badly in all competitions in order to ease pressure on players for next season. ;-)

You reinforce my point exactly Matthew, the level of expectancy on Citeh to perform well will ramp up 10-fold next season, even opposition fans expect it! With that comes the pressure, it's how a club as a whole manages that pressure, Garry Cock's rantings don't help and the managerial merry-go-round could become farcical, the owner needs to appoint a manager and let them get on with it, Abramovich screwed up getting rid of Mourinho...'world class signings' isn't necessarily a solution, this often means other first team players sitting on the bench, would players like Tevez go back to being a small fish in a big pond?...personally I don't mind Citeh doing well (winning silverware excluded), it's reinvigorated traditional rivalries and I expect Manchester as a whole to become the dominant force in domestic football :)

I'm not sure it's in the mentality of a City fan to expect to do well, regardless of how much is spent (one of the main differences between us and Spurs for instance)

I fully expect that if City do get 4th we will lose the Champions League qualifier and end up in UEFA anyway.. Speculatively speaking it may turn out we get new fans with a touch of the glory hunting (which is a bizarre thought) who do have those expectations but what they think really isn't of any import.

The owners on the other hand I think you're right and it would be good to see them doing what they said they'd do. To be fair they mostly have with the glaring exception of sacking Hughes, more money for the academy, engaging with the community etc. Fingers crossed.

In rememberance of the 96 who lost their lives at Hillsborough 21 years ago today. RIP

    • I wonder where he could be deported to, Hungary the obvious candidate in Europe, perhaps he would get on well with Modi?   Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage both said Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood should look at whether Abd El Fattah's citizenship could be revoked to enable his swift removal from the UK. Farage said in a letter to Mahmood: "It should go without saying that anyone who possesses racist and anti-British views such as those of [Mr Abd El Fattah] should not be allowed into the UK." So just racists views are ok Nige?

    • If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it was a little further down the road towards LL, probably where the Fresh Flower Company is today. I'd forgotten all about it, with good reason. I think it disappeared before Blue Mountain opened and became a pizza place? I once bought a carton of milk from the deli and when I opened it, it was solid. I did get my money back though.
    • But when was it posted?! I haven't posted any this year. I can't bring myself to pay the exorbitant cost of the stamps, and at least I can sort of honestly blame it on illness. If I can't hand deliver them, I send e-cards. I know it's not the same, but it's very much easier. And as for the people who still send pages of closely handwritten letters .... very admirable in terms of the hours it must have taken them to write them,  but they remind me of those spoofs eg x has just passed all their many important exams with the highest marks possible, y has just walked round the world in a week, z has just become the first person ever to be knighted twice, we are about to fly off for our fifteenth exotic holiday this year ....... Or else (or sometimes and) they are full of who has had what illnesses and accidents and other catastrophes. Is this just my relatives and distant friends? Am I somehow attracting these reams of handwritten paper?
