That story seems to go agaist what the BBC are saying.


Huang, who is the head of Hong Kong-based investment company QSL Sports Ltd, is thought to value the club at around ?325m.


A statement issued from his Hong Kong representatives said: "Mr Huang would like to emphasise that he has registered interest in investing in Liverpool FC but has made no formal bid."



I don't really care who the new owners are, as long as it's run well, and the debt is sorted.

Personally I'd like to see what Roy can do with the current squad this season (plus a new striker and left back).. before we recruit half the Barca team ;-)


My own preference has always been to build upon the existing stadium, one stand at a time, even if it means eventually it is in effect a brand new stadium with all the corporate trimmings it would still be upon the holy ground that is Anfield with it's unparalleled history and prestige.

A few prospective owners have been linked with the Club but the one that worries me is the Syrian / Canadian bid which reeks of having Hicks and Gillett as silent partners.


I remember when the Thai Prime Minister Thaksin was linked with a takeover at Liverpool and the Human Rights angle was thrown into the mix yet when it was little old Citeh the same fair weather knockers couldn't be bothered. So whoever comes in for Liverpool will always get beaten with a stick.

Spurs have drawn Young Boys of Berne in the play-off to reach CL - I think Spurs will be very happy with that fixture rather than some of the more daunting tasks they may have faced. Be good for English football if Spurs can actually reach CL stages as if only to introduce a bit of excitement at the group stages where they are likely to be in a stiff group what with their poor seeding.

      Don't see an issue at all. Siunds like the protest is being made by friends and families of the two off licences, Morleys, pret and maxim chicken who are within 100 m of the school. Much ado about nothing. Besides if it doesn't proceed, the kids will walk a but further!!

      Whilst I agree to some extent,  are they going to have some kind of checkpoint?  I can't see how this could work in practice. Surely Southwark residents go to these places quite frequently as well, particularly Tate Modern?  Will we have to take proof of residency every time we go out? What happens when family are with us who don't live in Southwark? Will other London boroughs start doing the same thing? Will Southwark residents be charged a tourist tax to visit "tourist attractions" in other areas, eg the V&A and the British Museum?

      A shout out for Mark, owner of Pure Plumbers. 07970 971510 They're well established in the Sevenoaks area, but have recently started doing more work in SE London.  Did some v quick and efficient bathroom and boiler fixes for me; have also seen some of the bathrooms he's built, which have a nice attention to detail.       Totally agree regarding not supporting chains. Gail’s was fine but last time I went in Feb this year, actually walked out Fayetteville looking at menu and waiting 15 minutes to even get glass of water and not busy at all. Staff gone down hill - sooner it goes the better… Always prefer to support non chains - so many lovely places with good food to choose from with pleasant staff who know about customer service and sadly, non English which says a lot for our culture, pubs are also becoming abit of a hit and miss affair but maybe just unlucky. At the end of the day all about the chef. Still abit unclear where new place is located - is it down the road from Goose Green where parade of shops are before Peckham Rye?
