Ladygooner
I think Harry may have underestimated the Young Boys - now 3-0 up inside 30 mins........ Annasfield
Spurs will go through. Haven't got Sky but apparently the commentator just said that "Young Boys don't keep clean sheets very often". Keef
Not too bad, spurs only need to win 1-0 at home. Frankly, if they can't do that, they're better off out of it. Jah Lush
Blimey! Could have been 5-1 second half if they'd taken some very good chances despite all our possession. Frankly I thought we were very poor. 3-2. That'll do me. Back at the Lane with Ledley at back we should scrape through and I have a ticket. Whoopeedoo! Mick Mac
lets hope you dont do what celtic did and immediately concede an away goal.Should be a good spectacle but lots of pressure. matthew123
Very exciting game, but Spurs lucky to escape with a 3-2 defeat - although I do think they'll wipe the floor with the Swiss next week at WHL. Jah Lush
Also, I really do not think it is fair that any team should have a plastic pitch. It gives an unfair advantage to the home team who play on it every week. Interesting that Harry Rednapp said Spurs have a plastic pitch at their training ground but that "the lads refuse to play on it". Maybe a bit of practice over the last couple of weeks would not have gone amiss. I presume UEFA only allow them in european competition where the league/country in which the team is playing requires an all weather surface due to adverse weather eg russia, switzerland etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/182/#findComment-485388 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
Oh give me strength - our best player pre-season and in Sunday's game, succumbs to Arsenal's perpetual injury thingy Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/182/#findComment-485389 Share on other sites
matthew123
I think the plastic pitches are a lot improved from the bad old days of QPR and Luton. Bottom line is Young Boys played with a verve that was refreshing and that caught Spurs cold. red devil
Spurs fans are going to have to swallow their pride, on last night's evidence they need Gallas.I'm sure and hope Spurs go through, but in the group stages they will face a lot more cuter teams than YBB, their defence just doesn't look up to it when Ledley isn't playing. Jah Lush
I agree that the defence looked very wobbly on Tuesday night but we do not want or need that French ponce at White Hart Lane. Hopefully Jonathan Woodgate will soon be fit. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/182/#findComment-485393 Share on other sites
Sandperson
Yes, but it's Woodgate...he'll be fit for two games then out for another six months. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/182/#findComment-485394 Share on other sites
Jah Lush
Yeah, you're probably right. He's had a terrible time with injuries for most of his career, which is a shame because when he's fit he's a match for anyone at centre-back. red devil
I thought pre-season 'arry was saying that Woodgate might be finished, hence the need for Le Ponce??? Jah Lush
I believe he could be back within a month but I've heard that before. No one at Spurs will ever accept Le Ponce so forget about it. Mick Mac
Apparently Shay Given has chosen Celtic and its up to the clubs to make it happen for him. Here's hoping they can do it. A good keeper makes a massive difference to a team. Gordon Strachan's team would have struggled to win anything without Boruc and we need a good replacement.
