Stoke 2 v Birmingham 1 (will Pillis get a decision in his favour?)

Tottenham 2 v Sunderland 0

Aston Villa 2 v Blackpool 0

Chelsea 3 v Fulham 0

Newcastle 1 v Blackburn 2

West Ham 1 v West Brom 1

Wigan 1 v Liverpool 2

Wolverhampton 1 v Arsenal 1

Everton 2 v Bolton 2

Man City 2 v Man Utd 3 (not sure about this one, could go either way)

Chelsea had three players out that's all. Lampard, Essien and Drogba (who came on as a sub). Chelsea are a rich club with a big squad and should be able to cope. Spurs have five or six players out most of the season and I think we've done quiet well so far. Just hope we stuff Sunderland this evening.

Chelski are definitely a weaker squad than last year with Ballack and Cole leaving, replaced by Ramires who looks a bit lightweight and Benayoun who is a lightweight.

Utd are still in 2nd gear, and to be only 2-5 points behind Chelski at this stage bodes well for when we traditionally kick on in the new year.

If the reports of loads of Utd players being out with flu/injuries are true, then it wouldn't surprise me if Citeh won, let them have their 5 minutes in the sun, it'll be business as usual when the silverware is handed out...tick tock :)

What Keef said.

Mac that might be so but a rich club like that should be able to cope. Still, one result does not make a season.

Very disappointed with the Spurs result tonight but we've still got plenty of players out. We're especially missing the cutting edge and goals that Jermain Defore gives us.

Fair to say that had benitez delivered a 2-0 win against Chelsea whilst under fire, his supportes would be showing the result as proof positive what a manager he was/is

i don't have anything against Benitez but I think many people have been unduly harsh on Roy. Judge him at the end of the season not this soon (see his similar record at Fulham)

Of course they can "cope", but it was a weakened midfield and against Liverpool's strongest team at Anfield, it levels the playing field.

I work with a Sunderland lad who wnet to the spurs game last night having purchased his ticket from a scumbag tout outside the ground, all touts are parasites in my view, anyway, it was for a seat amongst the home fans. Either very brave or vey stupid. He says he sat on his hands throughout the game and didn't say a word, he also claims the spurs goal was handball.

Very entertaining game at Palace last night, Palace winning 3-2 and some superb goals, the Ambrose goal arguably better than Torres second v Chelsea and a screamer from Garvan.

A season ticket for under under 16's is only ?70! and if you have moved here from up north/Scotland is it realistic or fair on your kids that they can only support your original team but never/rarely see them? Start watching a local team, it's got to be better than your kids not going to football or deciding to support Chelsea or Arsenal but only going once a year for a birthday treat along with a visit to the megastore.

So give Palace a go its only 20mins away by car or train, or even try Millwall, Palace is a tad more friendly though:)

Well he would say that wouldn't he. I could say we should have had a penalty and that Cattermole should have been sent off but there you go. Swings and roundabouts.

    • Excited to welcome Banook to the neighbourhood. Love a good bagel.
    • Majority of reported hate crime is based on ethnicity, brown, black and mixed heritage. Religious hate crime is lower and most affects Muslims, Jews to a slightly lowers number and a small percentage of Hindus and Sikhs.   Real or perceived atrocities committed by Muslim extremists and the state of Israel will influence numbers  Anyone who has been to a protest against the war in Gaza will see mainly peaceful and good natured crowds including Jews against war. @CPR Dave stop making a fool of yourself. Corbyn cannot admit to being wrong.  He sprouted nonsense that Russia was not responsible for the Salisbury poisoning, would not be contrite about the accusations of anti-Semitism, and is partly to blame for Brexit. He may be principled and a decent person but is not a Messiah and ran a poor campaign in the 2019 general election, a gift for Johnson. I expect he would have been pants in dealing with COVID, and Johnson set a low bar. I'm with Miss Jean Brody on the Spanish Civil War.  It maybe not!
    • How does your mind work? This is a thread about a bakery that may be opening. Your grasp of history is extremely weak. Mosley’s fascists were opposed and defeated all over the east end, not with petitions either. The principal leadership in driving them back came from the Communist Party but it was a united, cross community movement. The Daily Mail provided constant support for the British Union of Fascists and, along with sections of the Conservative Party, echoed their racist rhetoric. Plus ca change, plus c’est la meme chose. Excuse my French. To characterise pro-Palestinian demonstrations attended by thousands of Jews among the hundreds of thousands of people from across British society as “protesting Jews’ rights to exist” or comparing them to Mosley’s blackshirts is frankly sickening. You should be utterly embarrassed and ashamed of yourself.
    • I really hope so too, but they aren't going to get much passing trade, and parking round there isn't easy. Fingers crossed.
