felt-tip
maybe City will do one over Utd now this virus is knocking the Reds down like flies. Might be BS from red nose but be good to see Chelsea open the gap again. Atticus
Kopites you do make me laugh. Hodgson is now the man all of a sudden! You beat Chelsea reserves, albeit comprehensively, their squad is nothing compared to what it was. Jah Lush
Chelsea had three players out that's all. Lampard, Essien and Drogba (who came on as a sub). Chelsea are a rich club with a big squad and should be able to cope. Spurs have five or six players out most of the season and I think we've done quiet well so far. Just hope we stuff Sunderland this evening. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/221/#findComment-486362 Share on other sites

murphy
Off to Palace tonight, some nice football under Burley at times but no bite in midfield. With Ambrose and Danns back we may have a good chance tonight v Watford. red devil
Chelski are definitely a weaker squad than last year with Ballack and Cole leaving, replaced by Ramires who looks a bit lightweight and Benayoun who is a lightweight.Utd are still in 2nd gear, and to be only 2-5 points behind Chelski at this stage bodes well for when we traditionally kick on in the new year.If the reports of loads of Utd players being out with flu/injuries are true, then it wouldn't surprise me if Citeh won, let them have their 5 minutes in the sun, it'll be business as usual when the silverware is handed out...tick tock :)http://www.thespoiler.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/stretclock.jpg Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/221/#findComment-486365 Share on other sites
Keef
I'm surprised how much slating Woy is getting from Liverpool fans. Man for us or not, right or wrong, he is there now, and Rafa is history. I want him to do well. I would definitely have Woy over Kenny, which some mad people seem to want. Mick Mac
Chelsea without lampard and essien makes a huge difference to their midfield. Essien especially. Jah Lush
What Keef said.Mac that might be so but a rich club like that should be able to cope. Still, one result does not make a season.Very disappointed with the Spurs result tonight but we've still got plenty of players out. We're especially missing the cutting edge and goals that Jermain Defore gives us. Atticus
'Liverpool are back' 'Liverpool are back' - that's all I've heard from Kopites since Sunday, suggesting that they are (were) too big for medicroity and that the poor start to the season was a merely an aberration. SeanMacGabhann
Fair to say that had benitez delivered a 2-0 win against Chelsea whilst under fire, his supportes would be showing the result as proof positive what a manager he was/isi don't have anything against Benitez but I think many people have been unduly harsh on Roy. Judge him at the end of the season not this soon (see his similar record at Fulham) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/221/#findComment-486370 Share on other sites

Of course they can "cope", but it was a weakened midfield and against Liverpool's strongest team at Anfield, it levels the playing field. SeanMacGabhann
Lampard and essian have been missing for many games - many games in which Chelsea were lauded for their strength. I don't think they were that weakened against Liverpool Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/221/#findComment-486372 Share on other sites
Atticus
Throw in Drogba who clearly wasn't himself and only played a half. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/221/#findComment-486373 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
Well yes, but in truth Drogba doesn't have much time left at the top anyway does he - they should be filling his boots by nowAwesome player tho Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/221/#findComment-486374 Share on other sites
Keef
Yeah but a week ago the manager was telling us how Anelka was in the form of his life. Not saying this means anything for Liverpool, as they need to follow it up. However, it's harsh to take away a top performance by calling that Chelsea side weak. Emerson Crane
I work with a Sunderland lad who wnet to the spurs game last night having purchased his ticket from a scumbag tout outside the ground, all touts are parasites in my view, anyway, it was for a seat amongst the home fans. Either very brave or vey stupid. He says he sat on his hands throughout the game and didn't say a word, he also claims the spurs goal was handball. murphy
Very entertaining game at Palace last night, Palace winning 3-2 and some superb goals, the Ambrose goal arguably better than Torres second v Chelsea and a screamer from Garvan.A season ticket for under under 16's is only ?70! and if you have moved here from up north/Scotland is it realistic or fair on your kids that they can only support your original team but never/rarely see them? Start watching a local team, it's got to be better than your kids not going to football or deciding to support Chelsea or Arsenal but only going once a year for a birthday treat along with a visit to the megastore. So give Palace a go its only 20mins away by car or train, or even try Millwall, Palace is a tad more friendly though:) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/18997-football-focus/page/221/#findComment-486378 Share on other sites

I could say we should have had a penalty and that Cattermole should have been sent off but there you go. Swings and roundabouts.
