well if we are looking for reason enough, then him being John Terry would have been good enough for me

But Capello has overseen this kind of situation before and from what I understand he wasn't minded to strip terry of the captaincy for that reason alone

1. The Sun have lined up another EIGHT women who've slept with him in the last 18 months or so. Enough "for a couple of weeks of front pages". Including FHM's own HSH, Tanya Robinson.

2. The front page today - that Bridge's ex, Vanessa, has slept with five members of the Chelsea squad - is only the beginning. Two other Chelsea players - Gudjonsen and Drogba - were also sleeping with Bridge's girlfriend at the same time as Terry.

3. The Sun is also paying Vanessa ?250k to dish everything- including the fact that the "mystery" fifth Chelsea player is, depressingly predictably, Ashley Cole. Which should give Cheryl the excuse she needs to finally dump him (now she's no longer Racist Toilet Cleaner Puncher, but the new Nation's Sweetheart)

4. JT has also been sleeping with current team mate Hilario's wife (who also has kids).

5. Away from the bedroom, JT also owes Wembley a substantial amount of money for a box he owns and hasn't paid for, even after he had mates in there racking up a ?20k bill at the FA Cup final.

Probably all internet horseshite which I've just encouraged, I guess

but it's about England's Brave John Terry! so that's ok

And the rest is about Chelsea - so that's definitely ok

And it's all true

I'd love to have been a fly on the wall at today's meeting

via translator:

"John... John. JT!... all this fuss over nothing. You are still my captain. Just reassure me there isn't anything else in the wings waiting to be revealed..."

"er,,,,,"

Big result for Newcastle tonight thumping Cardiff 5-1... oh how the Geordies must wish they'd let Chris Hughton carry on last season rather than bringing in that circus act from the sofa Shearer and Dowie.

W/e predictions: Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea all to score 4 goals.

And Arsenal 5.....

Bollox...3 games ( Pompey, Blackburn * Burnley) where I hoped for 9 points, would have been happy with 6, expected 5, 4 would have just kept us respectable...the reality 2 points, and right back in it. We now need to win some games we wouldn't be expecting too...staring with Birmingham on Wednesday.

At the top, well here we go..Top 4 looking familiar and Man U going nicely through the gear changes as they often do this time of the year.

Bollox of a day :X

..apart from the eggchasing

Staring? I'd expect a bit of chanting too and maybe some handbags. But good to see that you don't expect to win in Wednesday.

    • They'd been there for days but I hadn't tied them to this thread. Nice work, it was bugging me!
    • Off topic, but when I was a kid in Streatham, long ago, apart from the milkman (rarely if ever milkwoman),  who also delivered yoghurt - very exotic - in little glass jars, we also had regular deliveries of coal, bread and cheesecakes (not the kind we know now, they had coconut on top), fruit and veg,  and paraffin (both pink and blue). I'm not entirely sure we have lost "something amazing" by buying milk in shops. The glass bottles were left on the doorstep and the metallic tops were pecked through by birds getting at the cream/milk. Or else the bottles were nicked.  And then there was the rag and bone man.... bell and horse and cart, just like Steptoe. God I'm old. We didn't have supermarket deliveries. We didn't have supermarkets. I remember the first supermarket opening in Streatham. It  was quite amazing having to walk round and  put your own shopping in a basket. As you were ..... Sorry OP and admin.
    • Yep, I hear you. Been waiting for modern milkman to these parts and plan to try them out. I still remember Dennis, our Egg-man, from my childhood, who used to deliver dozens in his Citroen 2C and came to collect the boxes the following week. Happy Days.
    • I always feel we lost something amazing when we moved away from home milk delivery with glass bottles using electric floats to driving to supermarkets and buying milk in plastic bottles. Hindsight says we should have valued the good old milky more
