black cloud over Nunhead/New Cross

I am in the west end but there is a huge plume of smoke over the city. Anyone nearby to know what is on fire? BBC says not linked to terrorism

Apparently it is near the construction sites for the Olympics. Whether is is on one of the sites seems unclear at this sage.

Polystyrene fire is VERY nasty - as any fule know very few people burn in fires, most are poisoned, and polystyrene is one of the worst.

From my office (Canary Wharf), at first it looked like the fire was coming from the HSBC tower! Was pretty scary for a couple of minutes.

Oh look everyone - smoke! Let's all take pictures of it. Whose picture of smoke is the best? My smoke is smokier than yours! Not it's not - my smoke is much cooler (well, hotter!) than your smoke, so there! Yes, but I photographed the smoke from a much better angle so you can REALLY get a sense of how incredible smoky it is! Yeah, well I think your smoke is really c**p and would probably disperse with even a gentle breeze whereas MY smoke is really dense and scary.

GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have all seen smoke before. What's with the amateur photographer of the year competition?
