Mick Mac
This should be good fun. I think I'm looking forward to it more than the last footie world cup to be honest. Of course Ireland are in it which is a bonus :)) but so are all the home nations, which gives everyone an interest in it. So all English, Welsh, Irish and Scottish.......enjoy. Windom
woo hoo! cruising around NZ for 3 weeks in a campervan with a mate, 10 games ranging from the NZ v France pool game through to the might of Scotland v Georgia, priceless. Pickle
We'll be watching - as a kiwi I'm nervously supporting the boys in black, and hoping that this will finally be the year they don't choke! Mr Pickle supports Scotland, the kids are quickly learning to support whichever team wins. The first England game is being played in a brand new stadium in my home town, exciting for a small NZ city to get such huge media coverage. Pickle
Cheeky! I'm sure NZ's poor performance against Australia recently was simply to lull them into a false sense of security. If I say that often enough I'm sure I'll start to believe it... :-$ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19324-rugby-world-cup/#findComment-472421 Share on other sites
nashoi
Looking at the draw, if there are no upsets, England will win their group and face France than Australia. A huge effort and a good dose of luck could see them in the final, unfortunately I think it will then require something not far short of a miracle.Windom (very jealous btw), Scotland v Georgia could be a great game. Ten more minutes in the last world cup and I reckon they would have beaten Ireland and Scotland's pack is not the biggest. Mick Mac
Cant wait to see the home nations in action. Argentina could be a tricky one for England to start with. Cmon Ireland. I think this is the year. Beat Australia in the group and again in the final. Moos
Hmm, that James Arlidge is frightfully Japanese, isn't he? Apparently he qualifies on 'residency grounds'. Pickle
Oh England, what was that? A win, but not a nice game at all. On the plus side, didn't the new stadium look lovely!Poor Mr Pickle didn't have a good start to the day watching the Scotland match, thankfully they redeemed themselves towards the end. maxxi
Not really - they played in the last 5 world cups and bid to host this one and have lots of clubs out there. Also all the home nations have had foreign players qualify by residency - some not even legally (remember Wales and 'Grannygate' back in 2000?). mima08
hiya - do you know of any pubs that show re-plays of the games later in the day? I know, I know I should make the effort but mornings appear to the time when I finally can get some sleep.... mima08
Thanks! I've also seen (now that I looked...) that they are shown on ITV player.... but I am the only one in my house interested, so a pub with other fans would be more fun...
