We are sad to say we are leaving 😢

Before we go, we wanted to let you know how much we have enjoyed our time here. Thank you all for your support, kindness, lovely comments on this forum here and friendship over the past nearly 30 years. You are a special group of people and we will definitely miss you all.

This was a Main Post Office, privately owned rather than directly managed offering full range of services and will remain so. It will reopen on Monday 2nd July after being refurbished and will benefit from extended hours, offering Post Office services 7 days a week. Selected transactions will only be available core hours and these will be advertised on the Post Office website.

It was our decision to sell as the time was right for us. Please come and say hi when you see us as we?re not moving from the area.

Thank you

Nilesh, Anita & Raj

^^ what Cornelia said.

You are such a big part of our FHR community and we will really miss you! Thank you so much Nilesh, Anita and Raj for always being so kind and friendly. My kids call the P.O 'Raj's.' It won't be the same without you,

Best of luck to you all,

Lucy, Cody, Pea, CB and the twins xx

I hope Nilesh, Anita and Raj will read this. We are so sad to read this thread. You have been so kind and helpful, particularly keeping an eye out on our elderly relative and contacting us with your concerns about her. You are an amazing crew and we will miss you so much. Wishing you all the best whatever the future holds. K and A
Absolutely agreed that the previous incumbents were exemplary and deserve huge thanks for the service they have offered over (many) years - but let's hope that the new team will see them as a role model to follow - in terms of good and helpful service. It appears that the time of leaving was their choice, however sad they are to leave (and we are to lose them) - but the show must go on!

I really cannot add any more than what has already been said by every single other comment here. Just so incredibly rare to have such universal praise, love and respect without exception on here! How many shop owners would inspire a 4 yr old to bring back a holiday present for them before than their own grandparents?!!

Thank you and good luck Raj, Nilesh & Anita.

    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
    • I would also like to add my recommendation for James.  I had taken four names of electricians from the forum - in the order I had read the reviews.  First three no response - even days later. I phoned James this morning. He answered, gave me a time, stuck to it, messaged again 15 mins before arrival.  He fixed my problem on the spot.  Sensible charge out fee. Perfect service.
    • Most recent polls for the next election suggest it will be a hung parliament, with Reform the largest party by a fair margin. But that is predicated on Reform finding around 300 candidates who are actually electable. Given the number of Reform council candidates who have had to drop out prior to or after the local elections, does that seem likely? Social media is pretty unforgiving when it comes to finding skeletons in cupboards; a retweet or a like seems enough to scupper political ambitions. A few may defect from other parties, but do you think the electorate would really vote for so many brand new MPs from a newish party?  I'm not so sure.
