new tells you there are unread posts in a thread. if you read the thread it dissappears until new ones are posted.

They should be blue in threads you read and ed in threads you don't (though this is i think governed by cookies on your local bropwser).

If they're not showing at all, then perhaps you have a javascript issue? Try with another browser.

oh, and due to a bug in the forum software, read messages are sometimes reported as unread after threads are moved between areas.

Is there any way that you can change the order of messages so that the newest appear at the top thus avoiding scrolling to the last page to read the most up to date posts?

Hi ortuke, it's not possible I'm afraid but you can click on "Last Post by xxx" and that will take you to the last post. Or you can click on the red "new" and that will take you to the first post in the list that you you've not seen.

It always just felt a little bit elitist. I know that wasn't the intention, but most people just didn't feel it was for them I think.

It was set up during a particularly difficult time of trolls and wankers, so just meant to be a place where you could moderate the idiots in a discussion, but as PGC points out, things have calmed down in there, so you can talk proper like again.

Sorry if I'm repeating old posts/suggestions but is there a way to rate users in the for sale section as both sellers and buyers? I'm getting so fed up of no shows...

Sorry that facility's not available but you could start a no show facility by adding "noshow" to your post e.g.

Admin was a noshow

So if people search on noshow http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/search.php?5,search=noshow then they would appear.
