*lays out stall*

All religions are complete and utter rubbish - Im sure we all agree on this - all sensible people do.(ha)

this Idolatry busines sis all cobblers

If there is a God & he is indeed Good, then Im sure he is agreeing with Snorky on this organsied relion farce

BUT

Anyone going to one of the places must, surely, be given a lesson in the culture and peculiarities that you must observe- whether you accept them or not, you have volunteered to work in the place. Ditto Brits who get lashed for brewing bathtub gin in Saudi Arabia - its not right, but what do you expect ?

I realise that this woman probabaly did this without thinking and no harm was meant by it, but this is a not too compliacted basic idea in the rules in these places - surely she should have been advised or given a refresher before taking on such a job ?

I may not agre with standing up for thr national anthem in the USA, but should I sit on my spotty arse and cat call sarcastic comments whislt otyhers are doping it , then I am laying myself wide opne to a reaction

Fair enough snorky, but this was done a little while back, with full cooperation of the teaching staff and headmaster, locals, none of whom raised a murmur.

Some demagogue has got hold of this further down the line and is kicking up a stink.

I'm sure she'll get found guilty, a slap on the wrist (hopefully not a couple on the back) and be booted out the country after pressure from foreign office.

It is all totally ridiculous though.

I think a worse story than this is the woman in Saudi Arabia who was out in a car with someone she wasn't related to. They were attacked by a gang of men who raped both of them. The woman is now in prison awaiting 200 lashes for breaking the law by going out with her boyfriend.

> I think what happened is that she named

> her class. Simple mistake to make.

Excuse my ignorance, but who was that boy Mohammed named after? I'm sure there's a "logical" reason why a boy can be called Mohammed without his parents being flogged, but a bear can't, somebody please explain. (I'm going to guess that the rule is that the teddy bear isn't a living creature. So if it had been the class hamster would that have been OK? I need to know the rules so I don't put my foot in it next time I'm in Sudan.)

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
