down with that. way to go.

Hi,

It is really sad that the owner of the cafe wants their custom. Clearly, the owner of the cafe has a duty of care for the safety and well being of the customer, I believe that this also extends to other people within the vicinity of the aggressor.

Nearly all contractors leave on their 'Hi Viz' vest. For avoidance of doubt look at the contractors name which will appear somwhere on the vest (if you are able).

Finally, when the numb heads are not there, I would go inside and speak to the manager/owner and advise you are not happy and advise that if it does'nt stop you might make a formal complaint. Having had such a response on this site will make me not want to go there and hopefully everyone else!.

Its a human right for a person to go about their business without fear or intimidation. If it continues you might want to go to the community (safer Southwark) office which is at the lodge in the small industrial estate on Goose Green. That said, when you look at the safety wardens they do not do appear as if they care about the safety of residents, visitors or traders.

I will have to leave it there as thats another story for another day.

Regards,

Libra Carr.

I agree with Keef. Also I think this is turning into a bit too much of a drama. If you cant face telling him/them where to get off then just walk on the other side of the road or else get a burly bloke to walk past them with you. I'm sorry to sound harsh but the more intimidated you look the more pleasure they will get.

Well actually all I asked was if other people had received the same sort of abuse (out of interest) and then commented that I'm not the sort of person who relishes a confrontation, especially at 7.45 am. I have been interested in other peoples' comments, but it's not me who has suggested the more outlandish solutions, nor have I tried to turn it into any form of drama. I don't actually look or feel intimidated but do believe it is my right to go to work without attracting the kind of Neanderthal comments that I have had to put up with.

Quite so.>:D<

I wasnt actually having a pop at you Cassius but just saying that these things happen and you either have to deal with it or avoid it. Some of the suggestions (mine included as its only my way of doing things) got a little hysterical is all.:-S

Hi Tillie

I was just a tad peeved as all I really wanted to know was whether other women were having the same problem as me - or whether I was being singled out for some reason. I don't want to tell the git to f*** off as that would, in my opinion, lower myself to their standard.

I thought some of the suggestions were very amusing and some were, as you say, a bit over the top.

    • The chancellor is exploring new opportunities (  and rightly so) for raising tax revenue in an endeavour to tackle the debt burden facing the nation. One think tank has floated the possibility of taxing  remittances  sent overseas by UK residents using a mix of formal channels  such as banks Western Union, MoneyGram, Wise and WorldRemit.  The proliferation of Western Union agencies has become notable in recent years. It is estimated that  around £28.5 billion was remitted to such countries as India, Pakistan, Nigeria and  countries in the Caribbean. Imposing such a tax could reduce capital outflows and result in greater investment here in the UK. The USA is introducing a tax at the rate of 1% effective 1/1/2026. Canada, Oman and Saudi Arabia are expected to follow suit.
    • I'm trying to be civil, see things from different perspectives and avoid arguments. The grey economy is cash in hand, so no tax to be paid, Chancellor loses out, we all win. Zero hrs contracts must be tough not knowing where or when the next work is coming from.  My position might not be great, but with a bit of sensible weekly shopping, stocking up on best buys etc. one survives and life ain't that bad.
    • I'm trying to find a venue for my daughter's 18th but it's really difficult. Most venues don't want 18th birthday parties. We were looking at Brockwell Hall (The newly refurbed big ol' house in the park) but they want 4.5k for a night which has to finish at 11pm. My daughter tells me her friends don't go out till 11 which I think may be an exageration but I get her point. I'm looking for a bar/club type venue where I can have a DJ till 1/2am and that's about it. Any ideas would be appreciated.
