katie1997
I don't think so.There's plenty of cafes and coffee shops here already.Edited to add: we need a new coffee chain in ED like we need a new bog-standard curry house. indiepanda
Definitely not. I don't really like any of the chains as the coffee is rubbish and never go in Nero. Undisputedtruth
There some people who thinks that large chains are big because they must sell quality products. In reality big chains provides goods, minus the quality, that ticks all the boxes belonging to the idiots. Idiots have no idea about quality. Undisputedtruth
Next, M&S and Starbucks are all fine examples of big businesses catering for idiots. karter
Many people said they wouldn't use Nero but in the end they do. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21456-new-coffee-chain-in-ed/#findComment-514529 Share on other sites
edcam
Nero is the only place that serves vaguely decent coffee. An independent cafe, serving really high quality coffee would be very welcome. British people are almost as bad as Americans in accepting substandard coffee. peckhamboy
I can think of at least four places serving better coffee than Nero in ED. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21456-new-coffee-chain-in-ed/#findComment-514535 Share on other sites
Undisputedtruth
Nero isn't too bad but I do prefer the independents though. I think Eats does the best coffee amongst the big chains. Starbucks only put one espresso shot in their coffee. Unlike Nero where they put two as standard. Louisa
I can't stand coffee, so please no coffee chains. We aready have a Starbucks and a Nero! I think if we get food chains they should be the likes of Zizzi, wagamamas or strada, far more interesting!Louisa. katie1997
Isn't Eat(s) a fine example of big business catering for idiots?karter - ED could do with a gin palace. Gimme
karter Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> a question, do we need another chain coming into> the area?> > Just asking like.Bizarre question! Why would anyone need / want another chain coming into the area?Chains are a watchword for mediocaty. Is there word on the street that there is another mediocre coffee chain coming to blight Lordship Lane? One caveat...if an estate agent were to close and a coffee chain were to open, there would be few tears shed, I would hazard...Suggesting that everything is relative... helena handbasket
And here I thought the oddly large instant coffee section at Sainsbury's was the "most depressing experience a coffee drinker can have".Just thinking about Nescafe "Gold" makes me giggle.
