Definitely planning for the evening, probably the EDT unless anyone else has a better idea. Great - well there should be three of us at least. Everyone else reply here or PM me at some point so I can get a better idea of numbers/how much space to reserve.
...I have been very happy to welcome social groups over the years to The Plough Quiz night in East Dulwich (Thursdays 8pm for an 8.30 start)...Get yourselves into a team(s). It's a great way to break the ice and have a bit of fun at the same time...only ?1.50 per person... Hope to see some of you there :)

Right! I'm organised now (finally) and have booked some space at the EDT from 7.30 on Saturday 19th under my name, Sarah. From the responses here and the PMs I've had, sounds like it should be a good sized group.

I'll be there on time, please don't leave me sitting on a massive table like a loner :-)

    • How about trying the upstairs of some local pubs like EDT? They prob won't stay open until wee small hours but worth a try... or night at Rivoli Ballroom Catford (too old?!) or somewhere up in town for drinks rather than hiring somewhere.
    • Sadly crime does seem to be going up in terms of opportunists and street crime / bike thefts etc. Lack of CCTV in this area means it's more of a target than some neighbouring areas according to police (when they sent victim support round after our car had its catalytic converter stolen twice in 6 months by organised gang complete with balaclavas, iron bars and a chainsaw.. driving a 4x4). Crime still relatively low by some parts of London standards but a worrying trend if burglars are trying their luck when people are actually home. Wonder what local police/ MP thoughts are in terms of whether they could organise more community policing patrols. I read a woman was punched in the face on/near Lordship Lane in an unprovoked attack a week or two ago. Terrifying.
    • We had shutters and roller blind supplied and fitted by Affordable Shutters when we first moved into our house in 2012 and highly recommend them. One of the poles and a couple of shutter staples recently came loose and they scheduled in a visit when they were in the area at no charge. Lovely customer service, great quality, honestly cannot fault their service (shutters are made to measure so you have to wait but they're worth waiting for). https://affordableshutters.co.uk/
