I think it's the "Miss Zoe" bit that does me

I mean if I called myself "Miss Annette" I'd sound like a character from "Gone with the Wind"

Ms.Curtain:-S

I am disgusted by this! Children change their minds all the time and if your child doesn't want to take part in the dance show then so what, you cannot force her to. Dance classes at such a young age should be about enjoyment, the teacher sounds like an absolute nightmare!

I run a dance class for children ageing from 3-8. Some of the parents cannot afford to spend the ?25 on a pair of shoes for class until they know that their child is going to stick to the class so I allow them to wear pupms, trainers or whatever they have! I would never demand the parents keep forking out on new shoes and uniforms! Christ Miss Zoe you aren't teaching with The Royal Ballet or at RADA. Sounds to me like she is running this purely as a money making business and less for the passion of teaching dance to children. The fee's are shocking as is the amount of time she is asking you to volunteer your time! As for changing fee's and not warning you until she send an invoice that's out of order aswell!

Find another school with passionate and caring teachers.

Hey, I'm angry so the kid gets it....

Although you have already given notice of leaving, if you did wish Jxxxxxx

to continue or return to classes at SLDS at any point, please take this as

notice that she would not be welcome to under any circumstances.

What a bitch.

I couldn't agree more!

As a student at this school, I am horrified at your abusive comments. Charlotte was a good friend of mine and complaing about Zoe using her as "blackmail" is a strong accustion considering

1. She never mentioned her anywhere in her email towards you

2. You mentioned that as a parent you would of been horrified which is just plain offensive to Karen and Neil, who gave fll consent to the event and where toached by the beautiful sentiment.

As a volinteer PA at the dance school I know that you have (obviously) not written the full story, as I have seen your equally explosive emails to her. MAYBE Zoe acted imaturely by sending you that comment however you notified her two days (I think) before hand, You have had how long to update her with this information? two and half months.

You have no right to put a "slagfest" about her on the internet she is a hardworking devoted teacher who loves her pupils, paituclary Charlotte. So next time rember that the internet is written in ink not pencil.

PS. You mentioned you were in a room with 5-6 year olds, when you were infact in a room with 13-16 year olds who needed no help from you

God NO

Freedom of speech/democracy and all that

Anyway, there's nothing on telly worth watching!

*gets out bellows to ignite embers*

:-S

The consensus seems to be that the school and Miss Zoe come out well on this and the OP might consider her initial outburst to be misplaced. It is only right that defenders of the school have their views heard in the interests of balance.

Miss Zoe and her dance school sound appalling. She is running a business, and this is how she manages her customers? That email is unbelievable, and there is no context that would make it acceptable. Why would you give this person your money? Marie 81 sounds lovely.........

gigirl nailed it:

Indeed.

Herne Hill Student, whilst it is admirable that you have defended your teacher/employer(??) Ms Zoe's email is inexcusable and I feel certain (hope) that she is she is embarrassed by this and no doubt she is worried about any loss in business due to the bad PR.

I too agree with giggirl.

    • Well hello Manor men, I went to PM from 74-79. I was in O and Churchill. I can’t remember my tutor but do remember a number of bods. I’ve read a number of posts here about PM and recognise some things. Mudway was an arse. Hardly ever changed his suit.  Guys I remember are Alan Palmer, Wayne Peck ( had an older brother at the school and I think lived Peckham Road, Longleigh House), Owen McClery, Junior Gayle(Wing Chung master), David Banton , Steven Green ( I think he had green eyes), Rodney Evelyn, David Barton, Raymond Gillman (deceased), Neil Warner, Horace Marshaleck (deceased), Steven Watson (two years younger) I have a picture somewhere of the school winning a cross country event against other schools in the South London Press I think.  Teachers - Miss Pugh, Mr and Mrs Webster, Mr Thomas, New French teacher 1978/79 Miss Anspach, Mr Baugh, Mr Nelson, Mr Patel, Mr Sparks, Mr Dowse, African PE teacher, hard as nails, Mr Fenton for careers, Mr Kemel Also, my brother attended Adrian Lewis, a year younger.
    • One gentleman who kept the boards up to date with community notices i.e. local residents' association events, East Dulwich Community Centre, sadly died a few years ago. He never had the keys to the NX Rd board as this was outside his ward (now known as Dulwich Hill). The council changed the locks on the boards and we do not know who was given the keys. The gentleman's widow carries on with posting community notices but only on the odd couple of boards whose locks have been broken and she can lift the cover. If I remember correctly, it was the Lib. Dem councillors in ED that initiated the boards.
    • Thanks, that’s very sensible advice  and I’ll most likely follow it. I shouldn’t need anything from them, and if anything, they may end up needing me as they’re likely to go first. Really appreciate your support.
    • Hi Jason - we had very difficult neighbours at some stage. Differently so from yours - aggressive, drinking fairly heavily etc… I tried to accommodate their many demands (and their huge dog who howled all day and used our garden as his toilet) until one day, I just started ghosting them. Cut off contact entirely, blocked their mobile phone number, ignored them when they tried to speak to me. I point blank refused to deal with them, including when they needed my signature to extend the lease to secure their new mortgage, which really panicked them. This proved highly effective and they moved soon after (after I made them sweat to sign the freehold docs they needed) I don’t know if you want to do the same if there is a personality disorder involved. But if you do, make sure all your paperwork is in order and there’s absolutely nothing you need from them.  I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s really unpleasant.
