High Chairs in local restaurants, cafes and bars (legal requirement) (Louged)

I pretty much loathe Wetherspoons but of all the things wrong with them, the drink side of things is pretty good

I wouldn't touch the draught lagers but they usually have a good selection of bottled interesting ones and plenty of real ale

After that it's ALL downhill... atmosphere, food, decor,

The worst one I've ever been to is the one in Balham... oh dear God, the horror

My first ever visit to a WS was in Croydon, I was fascinated by the studied naff-ness. I still find them wonderful in the same sense as one might visit a really crap seaside B&B just to experience the stereotyped awfulness and be assured that such places do exist.
There are a couple of good Wetherspoons out of London - but our local offerings are less than inspirational - however their Lithuanian bottled lager is excellent and for that reason alone I will continue to use them.

what constitutes upsetting?

most people without children don't realise that tantrums are a developmental stage and are difficult to avoid - not a reflection on poor parenting skills. (Obviously if a child is still having them at say, 8 it is a bit different). I certainly would not appreciate any comments if my 3 year old was having a tantrum in a supermarket.

It may be a developmental stage, or could be that the kids are bored of having to sit in a pub or restaurant, while their parents soak up the ambience.

I can remember having to sit in the EDT during the school holidays, while my Nan enjoyed a half a guinness.

To me, it seems that too many people are trying to foist adult experiences on to children, who will of course make their feelings known.

    • Happy to recommend Leon. He supplied and fitted a new bathroom extractor for me. Very quick to quote, fair price, scheduled the work quickly, good communications regarding arrival time on the day, did the job efficiently, and was pleasant to deal with throughout.
    • It's been suggested that he may be on drugs because some like ecstasy makes one thirsty. Was that why he stole the bottle of water? But what is strange is that he went in via the front door and reached in towards the rear. He then tilted the rear seat backrests forward so that he could reach right into the back. He did this rather than open a rear or the rear hatch. Go figure! It's my wife's car and she says she always, I RPT,  always locks it. Incidentally, our neighbour no longer locks his car because he has had a side window smashed twice now because of thieves breaking in.
