What's the betting Southwark website crashes at 5? Yup - good luck everybody!! My husband will kill me if our son doesn't get a place - given that we moved from North London specifically to make sure he could go to a decent primary school... (And a few other reasons.... ;-) )

To confirm, if you applied online, you can access the results of your application today, the letters are going out by post today and therefore those of you who applied by post should hear tomorrow. If your email says you haven't been successful (this is a computer generated email), it means you didn't get a place at one of your chosen schools. You should receive a letter in the post with the name of the school you have been allocated.

If you need assistance following the allocation, please contact me (email is best) or one of the other councillors or Liam White the School Preference Advisor, [email protected]

Good Luck,

Renata

WOW! Can I ask what your first choice was, i.e. which school is going to leave many, many people disappointed? I can only imagine that would be a non-sibling community place at DVI...

reneet - its because you live outside this year's catchment area for your higher placed schools. Stay calm though - you automatically go on the waiting list for your other schools, and if you ring admissions you can find out where you are on the list, so if you have a chance of being offered a place during clearing.

Last year we were offered our 6th place school, but ended up at our first place school after eventually being offered a place in late July, so it is still possible to get one of your other choices.

Results out about 40 mins ago. We did get our choice but were siblings so likely... To those not getting their first choice you are automatically put on the waiting list for your higher choice schools and there won't be a lot more they can tell you until people have accepted or rejected their places which there are normally about two weeks from offer and then waiting lists get more meaningful.

Good luck to all. Our first child we didn't get our first choice and my daughter attended a school she was sort of happy at but not thriving. Two school years later( last year) we were offered our first choice and chose to move but only just in time for her younger sister to go there ( and with a lot of wrangling with southwark admissions) and they started last Sept. now very happy but having missed out quite a bit of detail this is the only time we've done the process and it's gone our way. The first two were stressful and difficult but we're now happy. Chances are it will be for you too. Please take heart if you don't get your choice, you'll likely get there eventually

I get a bit confused - do you have to reject your choice to get on waiting lists and if not, how do the places free up? In other words, why would anyone reject the place they've been assigned before knowing they have another place? (barring moving house of private school admission)

    • No I don't disagree. I wasn't condoning drivers getting confused and the debate on whether refresher tests should be taken is a long one and is something probably for a Malumbu- thread!   I take it you never entered your details as someone agreeing with their sentiment but lots of Dulwich residents did and as part of that you get their email updates. So no, I have nothing to do with tje group beyond one of those two thousand dots on their website as a "member" is me!   Now, are you going to answer my questions or pretend you never saw them....p.s. we have seen this tactic before - happy to throw questions but not happy to answer some yourself...
    • I would suggest that anyone accidentally driving into the square is not paying due care and attention. If you disagree, I would be interested in what you consider a basic level of competence behind the wheel. Are you a member or a ‘subscriber’? Is there a difference. Does anyone know?  Who is alleging there has been pressure put on the emergency services (not you, you’re just neutrally posting ‘updates’ 😂). It is all very transparent and accountable isn’t it 🤣
    • Yes, but as I have said before I have nothing to do with their organisation (other than subscribing to their updates which I then post on here). Sorry to disappoint you. I await your answers....
    • Hold on a minute, aren’t you the one posting regular updates from ‘One Dulwich’?
