Great plumber

Recommended Posts

Try Rob Parsons, he has a website....http://robparsonsplumbingandheating.com/testimonials/

He has only lived in ED for 6 months so is looking to expand his network....nice bloke, Gas Safe, 20 years experience, leaves your place as he finds it, I am trying to get him some recommendations on the Forum as seems a great place to find local trust worthy tradesman!

Another recommendation to add to the many..... John was fantastic - fixed my boiler which several other plumbers had been unable to do, was fast and efficient and charged a very reasonable rate.

I have already recommended him to several other people I know.

Thanks again John

Hi,

Yet another glowing recommendation for John! He came round very late yesterday to make sure my hot water was up and running - pronto. He knew what the problem was and fixed it straight away. Very knowledgeable - and so no time wasted diagnosing the problem.

I have no hesitation in recommending him - he's on 07977 909339

I have used John for a number of years and he has fitted a new boiler in the last 2 houses I have lived in. Today John serviced my boiler, my son's boiler and installed a cloakroom handbasin, and upgraded my mother's heating system all in 1 afternoon covering a 30 mile radius in Hampshire and Surrey. He is always friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. In fact my mother was amazed at how enthusiasic and knowledgeable he is about boilers! A five star service at very reasonable prices. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
I used a plumber called Alan (07983688451) last week to try and find where a leak was coming from. He came the day after I found him on this site to have a look. Suggested where it might be coming from and what I could do (to save on him charging) and I found the leak. Will definitely use him to install new shower.
Another recommendation for John Power and his team. I learnt of him through the EDF last Sunday, and contacted him first thing on Monday. He came within 2 hours to carry out immediate solution and then came back later in the week to complete the job. He works very quickly, and is very straight forward in his explanation of what is wrong. He doesn't try to pad out the job and he charged a reasonable fee. I wish all tradesmen were like him - but hope that he doesn't get too popular so that he will have time to install our new heating system when we get round to it! Happy for anyone to PM me for full reference. Stuart
I had John Power do a safety check on my boiler. I was best pleased. He came on time and was very professional. He didn't try to sell me unnecessary products or services and gave me some great advice on dealing with my recalcitrant underfloor heating system. Rare for a specialist of any type, he was willing and able to explain everything to a layman like myself. I would use him again. Feel free to PM me.

I used John Power once before and gave him a good rating. But recently, he seems overloaded. I have had 3 missed appointments in a row with no prior warning. Travelling in hope, i asked for a reschedule, but did 't hear back from him. Can someone recommend someone else?

Rob Parsons installed a new boiler and associated pipework for me last week. Found him knowledgable, efficient, tidy and competitively priced. Will certainly be using him for future boiler servicing and any other plumbing bits that need sorting chez Hawley.

Hi wiacek68, this is John Powers, I replied to your post 2 days ago via private message to try and get some further information from you because I just have your username to go by but I haven't heard back from you. It would be great to clarify what has happened here because it is never my intention to let anyone down especially three times! Please get back to me via pm, phone (07977909339) or email ([email protected]).

Kind regards,

John

Unfortunately I also have to have a moan about John Powers.

- he called a few days before the job start date saying that he might have to revise the quote due to the price of copper increasing

- He was late several times

- damaged some floor tiles when moving radiators but did not admit to causing the damage.

- Did not carry out most of the work but used his apprentice to do so

- did not carry out pipe insulation in cellar competently

Dear Ranuwamps,

I am sorry that you feel so strongly about the service you have received from me but this is the first I am aware of these issues. I have sent you a pm but just in case you see this first could you please call me on 07977909339 or email [email protected] so we can discuss this further. But I would like to reassure you and the rest of my customers that I have never, nor would ever leave an apprentice unattended on a job. The engineers which assist me when needed are all fully qualified.

With thanks

John Powers

KING REGARDS,

Just to say John Power has fixed a couple of issues with our boiler recently and on both occasions has been efficient, knowledgable and a thoroughly nice chap. He even gave some free advice via text, which he didn't have to do.

In response to the few who have posted negatively about him, I know John values good feedback so I would suggest contacting him for a resolution rather than venting on here.

Our boiler went wrong late on a Saturday night and John POwer and Dan really helped trying to get it sorted out as quickly as possible by phone but with no luck. Dan came around on the Sunday to look at the boiler and unfortunately, it was a little more serious than first envisaged (fan went)and so John came around promptly on the Monday and replaced the fan with the minimum of fuss and now everything is working perfectly. I am very happy to recommend John to other users of this board, both as a person and as a plumber, and I will be using him in the future.

I would like to add that John Power came to my rescue last week after our boiler broke down and left our family of two small children and one on the way, without heat or hot water. He very kindly came when he said he would and fitted the new boiler promptly and made a very good job. He was extremely tidy and also helpful in replying to phone calls and texts while we had a few normal teething problems understanding the new boiler. I have lived in ED for 7 years and he is the best plumber I have used. Would definitely recommend.

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
