I have got a navy blue, soft cotton, cap-sleeved, scoop-neck t-shirt that I picked up many years ago whilst working in Mumbai.

To this day, its still a favourite item of clothing and I'd hate to be without it. I had no idea when I bought it that I would end up liking it (and wearing it) so much.

Anything in your wardrobe that you've become ridiculously attached to? unexpectedly or not...

I am ridiculously attached to everything in my wardrobe Katie numbers. I'm surprised you felt the need to ask! Sheesh.

I won't ever be getting rid of anything again. From now on everything's for keeps. Here's why...

I wore my grandfather's fringed, white satin evening scarf when I went on a date with D**** L*****, as I thought it would make me look a little bit like Morten Harket. We went to Wimpy and to see Beverley Hills Cop. I did not get in to Beverley Hills Cop as it was a 15.

Karen called her dad to come and get her. She did not have change for the payphone so I gave her 10p. I remember when I handed the coin to her it was boiling hot from having been in the pocket of my flecked, polyester trousers. She looked at me with what I now understand to be sympathy, but which I mistook at the time for disgust. A fine line, I suppose.

I still have the scarf (but not the trousers).

A couple of long sleeved, fine knit linen wrap cardies I bought from East quite some years ago. Have darned them a few times in an effort to keep them going but I know it is only a matter of time. Will be gutted when they give up the ghost eventually as I can't find anything like them anywhere now :(
In answer to the question I'd have to say none. If I were burning my clothes I'd probably leave till last the various customised t-shirts I've been given over the years to celebrate an annual reunion with my brothers. They sort of mean something.

    • He certainly comes across a rather decent bloke. Here’s a better one of him taking the knee with his players as an anti-racist gesture:
    • Europe, very much so, the whole of August is a write-off, if you want anything delivered from there, forget it, but there's no similar summer shutdown period in the UK as such, just people taking hols while kids off school etc. The nearest the UK construction sector has to a proper shut down is the Christmas/New Year period when, depending on when the Bank Holidays fall, there's an approx 10-14 day unofficial shutdown between Christmas and New Year...
    • There's planning permission for 2 houses.  Southwark planning site is too slow today to use, but found this link from Savills to auction the site: https://auctions.savills.co.uk/auctions/19--26-november-2024-158/3335-hansler-road-east-dulwich-london-se22-9dj-13236   Edited to add that the inclusion of lower ground floor in the planning application description indicates that basements will be dug.  Looks like Fellbrigg/Hansler is up for some heavy construction traffic next year.   Links to planning documents: https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=RZDIQMKBI2V00
