*Bob*
Looks like it's just going to be Murray playing himself in the final this year. Still don't feel 100% confident he can pull-off a victory though. Help-Ma-Boab
Never unfollow nivenj1 numbers. He was on blistering form for Murrays last match. Beat Irvine Welsh comprehensively. Still, world number 1 and 2 remain in the tourney and a few toughies enroute to the final for Murray. One game at a time.numbers Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> time to follow nivenj1 again I s'pose. woodrot
Tennis - never played myself- but how hard can it be ? hitting a big soft ball over a low net with a big racket, usually against a 15 year old kid. pfft. I would like to see Andy Murray wrestle the Undertaker- that would show how good he was. DJKillaQueen
Tim Henman was never in the same league as Andy Murray. I never understood the hype around Henman - an average jobbing player at best. Ted Max
TH was indeed not in same league as AM but "an average jobbing player at best"? He was a lot more than that.Top 20 ranking for nearly a decade, and much of it in top ten. 28 ATP finals, 11 wins. 6 grand slam semis - one of them at RG which was pretty remarkable for him.He made the absolute most of a pretty limited set of physical attributes. Help-Ma-Boab
I see, I only go onto Twitter for the tennis "commentary" from Niven and Welsh, dont see the other stuff.DJKQ: Think Henman was more than a jobbing pro. 4 grand slam semis, upto 4 in world at one point I think, ?7m in winnings and several ATP tourney wins. Id call a jobbing pro somebody who is around 25-35 in world, gets into the third round of tourneys, and has a once in a lifetime game knocking out a top 5 to get to the quarters of a slam once or twice in that time. Still make a packet of $$ all the same. (The above was done from the top of my head without wiki so may be some innacuracies in the detail)ETA: cross post with TMnumbers Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Help-Ma-Boab Wrote:> --------------------------------------------------> -----> > Never unfollow nivenj1 numbers. StraferJack
Look, Ted and HmBWhat you don?t understand is that DJKQ has played tennis to (almost) the highest levels over the years so knows the score ? reputationally as well as officially ? on the players over the years. So if it?s good enough for her... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/24386-cmon-andy/page/5/#findComment-659037 Share on other sites
