Never unfollow nivenj1 numbers. He was on blistering form for Murrays last match. Beat Irvine Welsh comprehensively.

Still, world number 1 and 2 remain in the tourney and a few toughies enroute to the final for Murray. One game at a time.

jeez you're not wrong. he was explosive yesterday, 'pumping it up your paella coloured dung funnel'. Kinda wish I'd not tuned in for that one mind.

(HAVE to unfollow him when it's not tennis else tiresome smugfest with Caitlin 'look at MEEEEEEEEE' Moran is enough to make me want to stab myself repeatedly with a blunt knife)

TH was indeed not in same league as AM but "an average jobbing player at best"? He was a lot more than that.

Top 20 ranking for nearly a decade, and much of it in top ten. 28 ATP finals, 11 wins. 6 grand slam semis - one of them at RG which was pretty remarkable for him.

He made the absolute most of a pretty limited set of physical attributes.

I see, I only go onto Twitter for the tennis "commentary" from Niven and Welsh, dont see the other stuff.

DJKQ: Think Henman was more than a jobbing pro. 4 grand slam semis, upto 4 in world at one point I think, ?7m in winnings and several ATP tourney wins. Id call a jobbing pro somebody who is around 25-35 in world, gets into the third round of tourneys, and has a once in a lifetime game knocking out a top 5 to get to the quarters of a slam once or twice in that time. Still make a packet of $$ all the same. (The above was done from the top of my head without wiki so may be some innacuracies in the detail)

ETA: cross post with TM

    • Hello, Is anyone selling an iPhone 14 please?  Thank you.
    • I may be a scrooge but to pay over £100 plus for a meal is a bit much. I understand that staff costs would be a high factor in this price and that being no transport on Christmas Day - pubs may have to pay car hire fees. The café in Christ Church will be doing a 3 course meal in the run up to Christmas for around £30 per head (Booking essential) so to charge an additional £60 plus seems somewhat unreasonable. The past few years, there have only been the 2 of us on Christmas Day, so we lash out and buy a lot of M & S food - ready prepared or with minimal cooking at a cost of between £30 and £40. We host the family Boxing Day onwards (8 - 10 people) spending around £60 on food and drink. Rather spend £100 for food etc over a couple of days rather than £200 for one meal. We are fortunate that we have the finances  to do this as many people are not able to do this. One family member with young children would find it hard to spend even £10 on a Christmas meal. Our kids come armed with plastic boxes to all family meals to take home any leftovers - so we are left with minimal waste- any veg and meat  get made into soup.
