A combination of the booze thread and the music thread have reminded me of this:

Caffreys (ft. a sample of Jump Around by House of Pain)

You'll have to scroll down to find it.

I'm not Irish, nor have ever been to the Emerald Isle but I bloody love a pint of Caffreys, that track and this advert.

Birds eye potato waffles - so waffley versatile

Where on earth dfid the copy writer get off with that one

Almost as good as the old advert for United Chocolate biscuits

"My name is Stan, and I am a Fan, I eat United and I am delighted" ???

Top top advert for me is the White Horses Guinness one (he watches, he waits)

Also love the current car one taht starts "Dad, where do I come from...." and finishes "... that's so cool as Jimmy Jones only comes from Scotland"

I've never met a woman who didn't like that ad, my 3 female housemates loved it, they t5hought it was pretty sexy, even up to the point where they started fantasising about the guy behind the suit...( I did fool one of them, telling them that it was a real gorilla )

Persil are showing adverts marking 100 years at the moment and one of the clips shown is of the young man who wants a clean shirt but it is in the wash so he does it himself and whilst reading the instructions on the persil box he tips it all over the floor and says "Oh mum" in a slightly bemused way

Years since i have seen that advert and brought a smile to my face

Now if only Ben was advertising beef burgers again !!!

I remember a similar

Yes, I remember that ad very well! But for some reason thought it was for Memorex, i.e. the 'is it live or is it Memorex' ads. Unless they had one almost identical...?!

    • Such a pity there is not, apart from Spinach a decent affordable vegetarian.. there is a stall in North Cross Market which does really yummy food and different one in Herne Hill Market… both tell me they can’t afford the rents charged on spaces…  I wonder if there is a community space available? Know Kingswood House might be interested but that is such a hike..
    • I think Labour can be much better. It's just that Starmer is so indecisive and boring. He has no presence, no  charisma and no strategy. Also no vision of what he wants Britain to aspire to.  He is being led by the nose by Jonathan Powell - a Sinophile. I would prefer John Healy or McFadden - they are much better communicators. They can think on their feet and that's something Sir Keir seems unable to do.
    • Once again. Worth repeating - it’s not that Labour can’t  or shouldn’t be criticised  but the reaction to everything being “is this the end for starmer?” Is such a symptom of a broken countr. He isn’t very good but he isn’t behaving in any outrageous ways, and we haven’t had 3 Labour leaders in between an election - so calling for one or saying the leader should be replaced is just hysterical    the Tories record in power since Brexit has broken people’s minds
    • The Chagos deal was done by the last government and they just paused it 6 months before the election as it was obv political dynamite.
