Brilliant! It's the juxta-irony I love - the London Mayor, seen by many as a loveable buffoon, being a representative for the host city of the greatest sporting event on the planet. It made me smile :) HURRAH!

(Granted, I did then pop my headphones back in and returned to my musical world...).

That's what did it for me. First at the station, now on the bus... half expecting him to pop up over the garden fence grinning his goofy grin.

Although, very good call on Gervais, El Pibe. In fact, to misquote someone or other: you there, Gervais: Fuck off. And when you get there, fuck off from there too. Then fuck off some more. Keep fucking off until you get back here again. Then fuck off again.

    • In deed.   An hour is optimistic. I'd always use the train/tube, so many options from the slowish Picadilly, quick Heathrow Express and Lizzy line in the middle. In the old days I'd go out to Feltham via Clapham Junction and either get a cab from there or the bus to avoid central London Alternatively 3 hours by bus only Or a couple of hours by bike, I have cycled there a few times including illegally going through the tunnel as it is so bike unfriendly.
