I bought Murder Ballads when it came out, loved it. But for whatever reason have not bought any Nick Cave since.

Agree with SF that Mercy Seat is brilliant - but Jhonny Cash's version is one of my all time fav songs.

It takes an extremely brave performer to cover a Nick Cave song. I'm very fond of Camille O'Sullivan who sings a lot of Cave (also Waits, Bowie, Cohen, Weil) and I'm off to see her this coming Friday (31st) on the South Bank so if you want a real treat, Quids, then get yourself a ticket and I'll see you down there. Come - seriously - she's a lovely woman and a great performer.
