Large group, making noise at the moment, no doubt they will be there several hours yet, they can be heard through closed windows, have contacted the M.P, reported it to Southwark noise control they say the team are not going out in lockdown, reported to Police,. Let's see, basically large groups are partying on the hill everynight, playing loud music, I saw a worker fill 2 bags of rubbish left on the hill from people's overnight parties, any ideas who else to call to report this, would think, as the hill as nature reserve status it should have some kind of no drinking policy/ playing loud music??
The noise can't be avoided unfortunately as hours into early hours, making sleep and rest for nearby residents impossible, the rubbish left over on the hill is crazy, local residents of the area are going to the hill early doors to tidy and fill X2 refuge bags to help out Southwark council but I don't think it's helping the problem of this behaviour.

It certainly is...Police have been called and attended but they just give advice to the groups to keep noise down, we have tried to contact anyone involved in Dawson Hill Trust but no working contacts.. just pray the situation resolves..

Would the fact that the Police have attended and, in your own words, 'just give advice to the groups to keep the noise down', make you think that in fact people gathering in a public space to have a few drinks and enjoy themselves is perfectly legal and it may just be your intolerance and possibly a misguided opinion that you are entitled to perfect peace and quiet in a major urban area that is the problem here? There are many, many parts of the country where you will achieve this without needing to twitch your curtains, email the council or call the already overstretched Police force who are understandably wary of attending such scenes without contracting Coronavirus and taking it back to their families.

I am actually going to go to this spot and check to observe whether this 'crazy' rubbish that is apparently everywhere is fact or fiction. I suspect it is the latter and is a mere stick to beat the miscreants who dare to cause the slightest bit of commotion which you think is out of place, even though they are perfectly entitled to do so.

Still, i suppose you have the other 10 months of year when the weather is rubbish where you wont be disturbed. Then again, i get the feeling that even too many dog walkers in the deep mid winter may also not be to your pleasing.

Snakefilth, there are far too many independent posts here and across other channels to believe that the mess up there is a figment of Mary123's imagination. I also think that it's ridiculous to suggest that just because you live in London, you have the right to be anti-social and inconsiderate to others. May be these are the people who should move to the middle of the countryside so that the rest of us don't need to put up with them....
  • 3 weeks later...

Yes logging calls with Police and Noise Team, they are riding around on Motorcycles, very intimidating, not sure where they come from not the estate, but suspect surrounding roads in Dulwich/Peckham..

We have photos/ videos of them, not sure I can upload on here as always failed with file too large..

Be aware, the trade value on your car is really low as no one wants to do the work & it's often only when it reaches near scrap value that someone (else) is willing to invest (their money) to try and fix. So if you're willing to front the money and fix your car that (you know) then that is most likely your best option (also understanding that it is outrageous that you should have to replace a CVT gearbox after 50K). If that isn't appealing consider a new Skoda Fabia 1.0 (Auto) on finance if you can't afford cash, it will last 20yrs.... (and avoid cars from the Stellantis group)
    • If you are referring to me, I was using my mobile. Just quoting the post I was replying to would have made no sense without showing my original post as well. I wouldn't have been able to do that on a "real PC" either, assuming I carried one around with me everywhere. It's nothing to do with what I'm using, it's the way the forum is set up to quote posts. I did insert a screenshot showing the keyboard by mistake.
    • You have to book for the Sunday roasts in advance. I have bad memories of once going for a circular  walk around Downe and then trying to eat. The Queens Head staff (and customers)  looked at us as if we were mad for attempting to get a meal without booking. The other pub in the village  reeked of bleach.  We had to  drive around in search of a meal, and ended up at some large pub whose name and location  I have thankfully forgotten. All I remember is the food, which was truly awful.
