Again just had a parcel arrive this morning posted first class on 3/9/20. Although it was sent by Royal Mail it appeared to be delivered by another company unless Royal Mail have changed their uniform to black and royal blue. so maybe they are hiring in people to deal with the back log. I?m still missing lots of things! I send anything important by UPS or Hermes at the moment as they seem more reliable than the mail.

Two purchases that I?ve bought from the same seller haven?t arrived to me . The first one was 16/09/2020 and the second 1/10/2020 both tracked and because the first one didn?t arrive the second one requested me to sign for . The seller received the proof I signed but I didn?t nor did I receive the item .

I have asked all my neighbours and no one has taken it in plus the signature I believe has to be done by the postman because of corona virus .

I?ve reported it to the sorting office , the seller can claim but this really worries me as who know what else has gone missing ??

I don?t know what to do ?

After complaining to Royal Mail and letting Helen Hayes MP know a month ago I had a deluge of letters ad parcels. Deliveries became a bit better for a while.

I'm now waiting for two parcels posted end-September...by Wednesday it'll be ten working days and the sender can get their money back. So can I, but from now on i'll make every effort to avoid delivery by Royal Mail...

And the tragedy is that the Royal Mail staff are most like treated better than DHL etc., and it's not their fault...

That's interesting Lowlander .I wonder how it works -

"here lads Mr Lowlander of 123 East Dulwich Residence has complained.

All hands on deck to extract his post ."

Makes no sense .Lots of individual complaints result in the complainer getting their backlog . And ( no criticism of you Lowlander ) while Peckham sorting office looking for the complainers post ,are they diverted from normal work ?

If only that were the case :-)

In reality it was likely the fact that the combined efforts of many people complaining to Royal Mail and Helen Hayes that resulted in a temporary improvement.

We have had two postal deliveries in the last fortnight. It seems that when our regular person is off they are simply not covered. I'm expecting several parcels which are now 2 weeks since posting - it really is absolutely infuriating. I have no faith whatsoever in getting anything on time but hopefully they'll turn up eventually. It does seem that if it arrives at the right moment it might come quicker than things which have got stuck in a huge backlog. Very fed up!
  • 2 weeks later...

9pm.

I heard a strange clatter.

Two supposed posties whizzed down my street, one each side.

The one on my side managed to force a magazine through my letterbox, but sadly had to give up with a cardboard packet clearly marked "Do not bend", which along with some other post he bent in half, tried to get it through, couldn't, so just left it all stuck in the letterbox.

On opening the door to pull it through from the outside, I found another letter dropped on the doorstep.

On looking through the post which had been stuck in the letterbox, I found a letter for somebody several doors down.

Dear oh dear. Have they taken on the Christmas casuals already?

    • OMFG is it possible for the council to do anything without a bunch of armchair experts moaning about it? The library refurb is great news, as it's lovely but completely shagged out - the toilets don't even work reliably. Other libraries in the area will be open longer house during the closure. July is a rubbish time to begin a refurb because it's just before the entire construction sector goes on summer holiday, and it would mean delaying the work another 8 months.

Worth contacting her with views on ammendments to the original license. I am fairly sure she won't grant any amendments, but just in case.....
    • Second time Aria has completed a plumbing job for me and both times he’s been polite. Communicative, kept to time and completed the job. He’s very helpful and tidy as well. First job was ball valve in water tank, not easy at all. He and his team were fantastic. This time kitchen tap cylinders replaced and tap tightened.  Much appreciated, Aria thank you.
    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. A donation of £30 will pay for a hamper to feed someone living on their own over the Christmas period.
