Blue Plaques

On my travels around London, I sometimes see a Blue Plaque that catches my attention.

This one at 8 Bruce Grove. Tottenham N17 reads:

Luke Howard

Namer of clouds

1772-1864

Lived & died here

It made me smile to myself, as I read that one.

And isn't there a Boris Karloff one in ED somewhere?

There's a plaque for Barnes Wallis on Queen's Road, going towards New Cross. I was explaining to my then toddler who he was and she asked where the one for Gromit was.

Theres one to Emile Zola on that big Hotel in Crystal Palace, my favourite one is on the sports bar in Haymarket to Ho Chi Minh who worked as a waiter in a hotel that previously occupied the site.

Camille Pisarro - Crystal Palace - on a bank at the lights at Crystal Palace Parade. I think he painted from Sydenham High School at one time.

Also there must be one for Gustav Holst locally because he taught at JAGS
