We're going to cinema on Saturday night (to see the new Bond movie - very very excited) and I wanted to eat first but I can't for the life of me find out how I can book a table at the Ritzy and I really don't want to phone the 0870 number for the box office.

Does anyone know whether I can actually book a table to eat (and if so how i do it) or whether it's first come first served.

Thanks xx

The thai place in Brixton village is great, and unlicensed so bring your own wine/beer. You can't book but have to queue which could be a downside depending on whether you want to eat before or after the film. The Satay bar just behind the Ritzy is OK (not as good as Thai place but easy to get a table, reasonably priced and fairly quick). Don't think you can book at the Ritzy cafe...
Yes, the Thai place is good; if you like a good pizza you can try FrancoManca, there are Mexican restaurants, which I haven't tried but have heard good things; Honest Burger if you like burgers; a few Columbian restaurants, Ms. Cupcake for a treat.....a few Italian places - the names are escaping me. Don't forget there are two undercover places opposite each other off Atlantic Road. Ms. Cupcake is in the same place as Franco Manca. There was a Japanese place there with odd opening hours, but no sushi. Also a good (Pakistani?) place with lovely thalis called Elephant.

Definitely go to Brixton Village.

If you are there relatively early, as in eating before a film time, you might not find you have to queue.

The Thai place there is Kao Sarn. Honest Burgers is excellent, also Bukowski in Market Row. Franca Manca Pizza, in Market Row, Sibellas in BV is good, as is French and Grace, Bellantoni if you like Italian...wander round, enjoy the atmosphere and see what you fancy. Don't forget to have an ice cream from the Argentinian Artisan Ice Cream Parlour on your way out, the salted caramel is fantastic. Walk through Market Row, look at Franca manca, the Mexican and Bukowski, then into BV to check out Honest Burger and Kao Sarn and all the other places there.

Casa Sibella is quite expensive as is Cornercopia, compared to the other places anyway. Toilet in BV not great so best to go at cinema in my opinion. Think there is only one toilet in whole place which you have to get a key to. BV nice to go to on a Sunday for lunch/brunch.
Aaaahhhaaa, we've got the EXACT same plan for Sat night (I'm silly excited!). I definitely second the reccs for Brixton village. Thai place is ok (I didn't love it but most people rave about it), Honest Burgers is good too as are French and Grace (simple food and short menu but lovely), MamaLan has delicious dumplings and soup-y bowls. You can't really book anywhere but you could walk around and see what takes your fancy. I think it's a brilliant place for a night out!

    • Malumbu, you're absolutely right. The vet bills due to attacks on neighbouring cats are certainly not insignificant at all. The wounds can even lead to fatalities. I always urge clients, neighbours & community posters to target the root cause, as opposed to skirting around the underlying & often persistent issue. Connecting with local organisations like Celia Hammond Animal Trust, Cats Protection or Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) initiatives is a longterm solution. This is heighlighted, although briefly, under Improving Community Wellbeing. - I'd also like to highlight that if ever unsure whether the culprit is intact, owned or feral, & are hesitant to report, just in case it's a neighbour's neutered cat, you can call upon a Scan Angel or our team at TWB to check for a microchip first. - If the culprit does happen to be a neighbour's neutered cat, there are a variety of solution; both immediate & longterm that I would be more than happy to help with. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]
    • Also wanted to leave my recommendation for Lukasz. He came completely on time, was highly efficient, did everything we asked and more without charging extra and left the place immaculate. A real gem - we will definitely use him again!
    • Not sure if you added Tomd that have not been neutered terrorising other cats in the area.  Happened round here.  Would have been tempted to castrate the tom if I'd caught it.  Water pistol was not a deterrent.  Vets bills due to various attacks on other moggies was not insignificant
    • That's good news. I saw that DVillage is also being renovated. Now the pavement in front is wider and flatter with the recent works, they'll have a nice setup indoors and outdoors.
